Ok so this thing kinda fell to the wayside over the past couple week. I apologize for not getting pictures from the rest of the trip up yet. There are a lot of pictures to go up and i just need to find an hour and sit down and go through all of them. I promise, PROMISE! that these will be up in the next couple of days.

Also, regarding what is to become of this blog I have a quick answer for you. The guys all still have the ability to post here but they are lazy. However I am going to try a little new LRR project. Every week (or at least when i am involved in the shooting process) I am going to try and get a behind the scene look into the shooting of our videos going. So starting next weekend (8th and 9th) look back for a recap of that weeks video.

So with the road trip coming to an end this past weekend, the future of this blog is somewhat up in the air.

1 of 2 things will happen.

1. The blog will thrive with the posting of all the member of the crew. As of right now everyone that wants to within the crew has access to post in the blog.

2. It will die.

Only time will tell what will become of the LRR blog. If you want to see it keep going, voice your opinions in the comment section of this post!

Road Trip : The Final Days
August 9th, 2007

Oh man you guys. You have no idea. I am currently coming to you from just north of Klamath, CA. We are slowly making our way back to Victoria. Our original goal was to get up super early this morning and push the 12 hour drive to the ferry and get on the last ferry of the day. Well as you may have already guessed that plan was flawed. In fact I think it would be safe to say that communism in America would have had a better chance to work than this plan. But I am getting ahead of myself, I am sure at least one of you is wondering how we got here. Well let me regale you of our story of the last 3 days.

Wednesday

Wednesday was our second day in LA and boy did we ever make good use of it. Over the last couple of months we have been in contact with a guy over at HBO Labs that is a big fan of our stuff and he has been hounding us to make some shorter content for him so he can pass it on to his bosses and tell them how awesome we are. So with them based out of LA he thought it would be kind of cool if we all came over for the morning to shoot some stuff for their website. So we hopped in the bus (minus Ben, he was sick) and proceeded to drive pretty much from one side of LA to the other. No offense to anyone out there reading this from the LA region, but when it comes to commuting, your city kind of sucks. Other wise it’s a really cool place that I fully intend on going back to. So after we got the HBO thing done, some of the guys were hurting to hit up Disneyland. So we headed back to the hotel to drop off the bus, and some of the guys (Matt, Paul, Graham and Alex) headed off to Disneyland. While the rest of us were pretty dead set on going to Medieval Times. And boy am I ever glad we did. Our Knight lost, but god damn was it ever awesome. If you ever have the chance to go, do it. From my understanding the guys had an awesome time at Disneyland, they hit every ride they wanted to and some twice.

Thursday

Thursday was a pretty uneventful day. Our only goal for the day was to make it to San Fran in one piece. The one catch was, we were going to get there by going along the coastal highway. A little slower yes, but much more scenic. Before we jetted out of town we headed down to Jay and Silent Bobs Secret Stash (Kevin Smiths comic book shop) and had some fun there. Right around the corner was a pizza place and a frozen yogurt place that we hit up. The Frozen yogurt was amazing and the pizza was HUGE!

We made it about 1 hour out of town and we finally picked up our first hitchhiker. Our plan was to pick up a super hot girl but when we finally figured out that that wasn’t going to happen we settled for the next best thing. A guy named Gary. Old enough to be our dad but he was a nice guy. So we gave him a ride about 20 miles north and then dropped him off in his hometown.

After that it was just a very long drive to SF. We finally made it in around 2am, drove up some really big ass hills and found a motel to stay at.

Friday

Friday was the day for our Lucas Films tour (thank you Ken) So we all pilled back in the bus after a mediocre night sleep and drove over to Lucas. The tour was pretty freaking cool. There really isn’t much to say (mainly cause we can’t talk about it :P) we wandered around the building with our honorary guide who showed us all this cool stuff that fills every hallway of the building. Well worth the stop in SF.

After the tour our goal was to go as far was Eureka, CA and chill there for the night. And holy Christ what a night it was. I however am going to leave Morgan or Adam to fill you in on it. Hold tight, it’s a good story.

Saturday

As stated at the beginning of this post, it was our goal to catch the last ferry back to Victoria on Saturday night. That was not to happen. So instead we did the next best thing. We took our time and drove all the way from Eureka, CA to Port Angeles, OR so we could catch the first ferry over on Sunday morning. And that is just what we did. Notes of interest for the day included our stop in a small Oregon town to get our other tire changed and grab some lunch.

After that it was just the long drive with stopping only for gas. We finally got into the ferry terminal around 2am an camped there for a couple hours until it was time to get in line for the ferry boat. We just barely made it on for the 8:30, so we were all sighing a sign of relief when we got on the boat. The ride over was boring, which was to be expected. At this point we were all tired, smelled bad and wanted nothing more than to be in our own houses again. But Canada Customs would have none of that. They spent 1 hour searching our vehicle when we got to the other side. BORING! Graham Air soft gun was taken away but we are thinking he should be able to get it back. And if not, I don’t think he’s worried to much, it only cost him 30 bucks.

And with that the blog comes to a close (thank god)

If you want more road trip goodness, go on your own and leave me alone 😛
