If you’re attending this year’s Penny Arcade Expo, make sure to come see us! Beyond just the LoadingReadyRun panel, some of the crew are involved in extra-curricular activities that you may want to check out.

Here’s the breakdown:

LoadingReadyRun presents Desert Bus, Unskippable, ENN, and hilarity
Friday, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Raven Theatre
Join the LoadingReadyRun crew as they talk about all their work, show you some new stuff and maybe even drop aggravatingly vague hints about future projects! Also, they’ll answer a bunch of your questions, assuming they don’t get distracted.

Booms, Headshots, and Scathing Comments: The Magical World of Web Video
Friday, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Pegasus Theatre
Remember the dark internet of 1997? When animated gifs and stamp-sized screenshots were the best gaming media had to offer? Well that world is gone, replaced with a veritable utopia of web video, custom-crafted by gamers for gamers. Graham, Kim, Alex, and Garrett team up with Jeremy in a super-friendsian alliance to discuss the present state of web video, and what it took for them to get where they are today. Interested in knowing the differences between filming in LA and a quiet Canadian suburb? Want to dip your toe into the mysterious world of YouTube? This may well be the panel for you.

Panelists include: Graham Stark [Partner, Bionic Trousers Media], Jeremy Petter [Writer/Filmmaker/Graphic, Independent Contractor], Kim Evey [The Guild, Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show], Alex Albrecht [The Totally Rad Show], Garrett Hunter [Mega64]

Organizing a Child’s Play Fundraiser
Sunday, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Wolfman Theatre
Starting a fundraiser for Child’s Play Charity? Make this panel your next step! Join the founders of Ümloud! (San Francisco) and “Desert Bus for Hope” (Victoria, B.C., Canada) as they talk about their process in creating a charity event for Child’s Play. Whether your idea is to run a fund-drive over the internet or a local event set in the real world, we’ll help point you to the right path to make a successful event.

Panelists include: Graham Stark [Co-Creator, LoadingReadyRun], Chris Kohler [Co-Founder, Ümloud!], John “Seg” Seggerson [Co-Founder, Ümloud!]

And finally… choose wisely, as Friday at 10:00pm has a cavalcade of neat stuff!

LoadingReadyRun Movie Night – Wolfman Theatre
10:00 pm – 1:30 am
Join the whole LRR crew for some of our favourite vids and other fun stuff. We’ll all be there to hang out and answer your questions. If you missed talking to us during our panel, we’d love to see you here.

The Escapist Presents: Movie Night – Unicorn Theatre
10:00 pm – 1:30 am
Join The Escapist for an epic night of their critically acclaimed video, including: Zero Punctuation, Doraleous and Associates, Unskippable and A Good Knight’s Quest. (also Hit it with My Axe, if you’re into that kind of thing)

PAX Late Show Recording Session – Serpent Theatre
10:00 pm – 1:30 am
The PAX Late Show is the brand new talk show featuring your favorite geek celebrities. Also includes the premiere of new video content from hot web video creators, and a very special musical performance. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the live studio audience for this first ever recording of the PAX late show with your hosts Rym and Scott of GeekNights.

Guests include: Alex Albrecht [Diggnation, The Screen Savers], Rooster Teeth [Red vs Blue], Jon St John [Duke Nukem], and more!

We’re still in discussion te as to when our PAX fan meetup will be, so stay tuned to the blog for details. In the meantime … I’m giddy! Hooray PAX! Hope to see many of you soon!

Starburst Update: It’s ON
August 31st, 2010

Posted by Jeremy

This is just a quick update to remind everyone that the Vigafre’s fantastic Starburst T-shirt design is still available for pre-order, but not for much longer.

After surviving much scrutiny at our hands, and at yours, this fantastic design will be up for order for another 13 days. I’m happy to report that it’s passed the fifty-print threshold and will–for sure–be printed. That said, remember that we will only print extras of the most popular colour combination, so you get the most selection if you pre-order … and a matching button :).

In related news, the commodoreHUSTLE DVDs are hot off the presses and on their way to us. We’re having some rush-shipped to us at PAX, so hit us up for them there if you like. Otherwise, we’ll have the rest of our stock, ready to fulfill orders by the time the Starburst pre-order is ready to go. You can order them now on the store.

Also, stay tuned for some more exciting merch news once we get back from PAX!

UPDATE: Also important—the Robot posters actually got mailed out yesterday, and should be finding their way to their owners within the next couple weeks (shipping time is always variable). Watch out for them!

Video: More at Eleven

Today’s (or rather, yesterday’s [see: hole in time]) video reunites much of the Action 9 news cast, who have appeared in LoadingReadyRun videos since 2005.

Brain Evans, Bud Hendricks and Chip Musgrave (who has been a weather reporter and a statistician, and an Olympic commentator, and sounds quite a bit like ex-poker champion Danny Frieberg) first appeared in Slow News Day, as did Hal Johnson—who is mentioned in this video but never shown. Laura Holly first appeared in Save Our Games from 2009, and is in no way related to Natasha Strong from The Secret Life of Toast. Mark Dawson appeared in Dinosaur as a reporter, and became an anchor in WGA, No Way! Reese Filbert, Edgar Frost (who looks shockingly like Hal Johnson, sans beard, and a bit like rightwing pundit Ross Hartas from Max Effect), Ted Smithe, Karen Walnut and Ryan Albertson (who, again, looks like a slightly older, more beardy Steve Clark from Slow News Day, and Sounds a bit like Rich Murdoch from Poker Before Dusk) round out the cast as new entries.

Those looking to watch more Action 9 videos can find out more about them from the LoadingReadyRun wiki … Though the list is slightly out-of-date at this point (hint, hint). Also, thanks to everyone in the community who’s put so much work into updating the wiki. We’ve noticed; you’re awesome.
