PAX East Saturday & Magic
March 31st, 2011

Hey everybody, here’s two more videos from PAX East for your enjoyment.

The first is a recap of Saturday, which as you’ll see, became sort of a “LoadingReadyRun Day” for us, and the second is our Archenemy game against Wizards Community Manager Michael Robles (which we separated into its own video so it’s not a 7 minute video with 4 minutes of MTG in it).

If you’re interested what our decklists are, check out the rest of this article, after the jump.

After having dispatched a meal, I went ashore, and found no habitation save a single forum, and that without an occupant; we had no doubt that the people had fled in terror at our approach, as the message board was completely furnished with threads.

This week’s video is up. Venture forth into the great unknown, and watch.

This week’s video heavily features our good friend Cam, a fellow whose nobility and class we felt suited that of a worldly explorer. Also, he was around, so that helps. He’s appeared previously in ENN, but I believe this is his debut performance in the core LoadingReadyRun video series. We do hope to have Cam back to appear in future videos, though – he knocks his roles out of the park.

This video was shot over a period of more than a week, and continued our fine tradition of re-shooting scenes on account of audio problems. Originally, James and I played the two roles in the opening scene, having shot on a park bench near the office. We came to discover, subsequently, that the mic hadn’t been plugged into the camera, and the only thing that came through audibly was Graham’s “Ok!, Awesome!” the he spoke directly into the on-board mic as he wrapped the shot. So, instead of the career-defining performances of James Turner and yours truly, you get Jer and Paul.

Unskippable this week was Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. You can find that here.

Cheers, everyone!

This week’s video is live, and it’s a shiny new commodoreHUSTLE. Check it out by clicking right… here.

Ha! Got you! Seriously though you can find it here.

This episode of commodoreHUSTLE retells the true story of how Jer made Alex’s (and to a lesser extent everyone else’s) life miserable for a period of weeks surrounding Desert Bus for Hope, and the ultimate retribution Alex finally wrought upon him. There’s no describing the vileness of club soda, it’s something one has to experience for themselves. It actually is just fizzy water and baking soda, and that’s exactly what it tastes like, but worse, by nature of it’s being some unholy mixture of the two. Truly, it is the worst of all drinks. Go try one sometime. Then cry yourself to sleep.

Unskippable this week was R.U.S.E. You can check that here.

Heh.

Hey everybody!

We had a bunch of fun at PAX East this past weekend, as did the LRR fans who were able to make it. It was great to see you guys!

If you weren’t able to be at PAX, we’re sorry to have missed you, but hopefully we can be where you are at some point in the future!

For those who are interested what madness you missed, I’ve put together a couple videos that cover the day Paul & I spent travelling to Boston, and the first day of the expo. There will be a couple other videos to follow (with the meet-up and the panel Saturday was sort of an unofficial LRR day, as it turned out).

Check them out!

In a somewhat ironic twist, a video about making sure everything happens on time went up grievously late today. Thankfully, it’s up now.

This week’s video was filmed in the basement of the VEC. Yes, the same basement in which we filmed all of daily drop. The Same VEC in which we will be holding our annual screening this weekend! (see below). A big thanks to the VEC and it’s staff by the way, they do a great job of supporting the local arts and comedy scene. A Paul written video, I suspect the genesis of this idea largely speaks for itself. Enjoy.

Unskippable this week was Red Dead Redemption (not the zombie version though, sorry). You can check that out here.

Remember, also that today is the last day to pre-order your “Never Forget” tee-shirt. There’s only a few hours left, don’t miss out!

And finally, if you live in the Victoria, Vancouver, or coastal BC area, our screening is on this coming Sunday! And it’s free admission! Hope you can make it, we’d love to see you there!
