Ways to Prepare For PAX
August 27th, 2012

It’s Monday and we have three fresh videos for you!

LoadingReadyRun: Ways to Prepare For PAX
Unskippable: Drakan: The Ancients’ Gates
Checkpoint: On Blackest Isle

This week’s LRR video was a lot of fun to shoot. My personal title was “How to Ready Your Body for PAX”, but I think pretty much everyone agrees that is a bad title.

Anyhow… This week’s video also features a ridiculous parody scene. I won’t reveal what it is, but suffice to say that if you get it, you’ll be howling with laughter, but you probably had to be sentient in the early 90s to understand why it is funny.

Remember, if you have any questions about this week’s LRR video, leave them in the comments so I can address them when I write the weekly Loading Time column.

Midweek Madness – Bald Dump and an Oily Loading Time

Midweek update madness!

Feed Dump: Bald Men Hotspots
Loading Time: Vintage Housing

And for even more excitement, two recent Vidcasts you might have missed!

Live Vidcast from August 4 and the LRRcast for Occupied

Check out the Loading Time article on The Escapist for more information on how we rented the costumes and found the perfect location for Snake Oil.

And since I have your attention, did you know most of the LRR crew are on Twitter? You can follow Graham, James, Matt, Jer and myself if that’s the kind of thing you like. There’s also an official LRR Twitter account and one just for our Magic: The Gathering habit.

Snake Oil

May I interest you in some bona-fide sketch comedy? It’s guaranteed to put a spring in your jimmies and get your veins and arteries free of hex weevils, the leading cause of Wilson’s Croop.*

Here are Monday’s videos!

LoadingReadyRun: Snake Oil
Unskippable: Trapt
Checkpoint: Almost No Odd Job

Unlike last week, where the video was filmed only at great expense to our blood, this week’s video was a much higher production job with budgeting for real props and costumes. How fancy and unlike us! We’ll cover the production and filming process for Snake Oil in this week’s upcoming Loading Time, but if you have any questions about the video, be sure to leave them in the comments so I can make sure they get addressed in the Escapist news post that will accompany the video.

Also new this week is… me! Today marks the beginning of my stint at the helm of the U.S.S LRRBlog, displacing Matt and finally ending his reign of Pony-based terror. Just kidding — as many of you know he’s off to do his Masters degree in Vancouver. In his absence I’m stepping up to the plate, but Matt, we are all going to miss you for these 16 months.

But what does this change mean for you, gentle reader? Well… not much, but here are four things you may want to look out for!

1. All My Little Pony memes to be replaced with Jerk City** comics.

2. A more flamboyant writing style heavily influenced by a lifetime of wanting to be Douglas Adams.

3. 28 percent more references to cats.

4. ***

*Results not even a little guaranteed.

**Really NSFW, ridiculous, offensive, sometimes transcendently funny.

***Lots more footnotes.
