Our long national nightmare finally comes to a close

OH. MY. GOD!

Did you guys see Breaking Bad? No? Did you see everyone on your Twitter feed talk about it? How about your friends posting about Breaking Bad parties on Facebook? Did you real one of the approximately 90 billion articles written about it over the last week? Did you find yourself getting sucked into a vortex of hype despite never having seen an episode of the show?

This week’s LoadingReadyRun video is Badly Broken, a timely piece on our latest cultural moment, a true classic that I’m sure won’t age or lose relevancy in the coming years at all.

Next up this week is Unskippable, with the thrilling conclusion to Remember Me. (In case you missed it, part one is here.) This game leaves so many obvious questions unanswered. Why are they disposing of corpses in the sewers instead of just burning them? Why would you listen to a mysterious voice in your head? Isn’t that usually the international sign of crazy? Why doesn’t he tell her the plan while she’s got nothing to do? Why is EVERYTHING about killing Superman these days?*

And finally this week’s episode of CheckPoint is The Ghost of David Jaffe, in which we discuss David Jaffe’s new company, and new business partner. Hint, one of those two things doesn’t actually exist! Also, Final Fantasy XIII-3 looks confusing, and the “One” in Xbox One might just mean “only one correct way to display.”

And finally, in Kickstarter news, we’ve got 13 days left and we’re getting closer to our first stretch goal, a whole new year of Crapshots! Fingers crossed!

One of these questions does not actually come up in Remember Me. Guess which one it is!

Kickstarter GET!
September 26th, 2013

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to post a quick blog update to say WE DID IT! With 17 days to go, our Kickstarter has passed our initial funding goal! We’re so excited and thankful for all your support, and we’re really looking forward to season 11!

So now, with two and a half weeks left in the campaign, we’re looking to our stretch goals. As you you can see on the main page of our Kickstarter, we did plan some extra goals in the event that we were lucky enough to over-fund!

  • First up, if we reach $150,000 we will bring back: The Crapshots! A long time fan-favourite, these wacky ultra-short sketches are high on weird, low on sense.
  • Next, if we can reach $170,000, we will force Jer to finally make a full, actual Temple of the Lava Bears D&D campaign, which we will then play (and stream, and record) our playing of it for everyone’s enjoyment.
  • And if we are lucky enough to fund over $180,000 we make not one, but two episodes of Crapshots a week. A double dose of crap, a double dose of delight!

We’ve planned out plenty more stretch goals, the whole list of which can be found in this blog post, and on our Kickstarter page.

Not the most relaxing situation I’ve ever seen, frankly

Hello! My name is Kathleen De Vere, and I’m here with the Blog Situation. The most relaxing way to receive LoadingReadyRun’s news and updates. First of, sit back and get comfortable. Put on some relaxing music. Take a deep breath in, and exhale slowly. If something beside you doesn’t smell very good, maybe just breathe through your mouth for a while? Make a slightly gurgling noise, like a happy little steam. Imagine tiny fish and insects there, inside that stream that is inside your mouth. Plip! Plop! They’re jumping around in your mouth, tickling the back of your throat. There, don’t you feel more relaxed? Aaaaahhh…

First up, some exciting Kickstarter news. Just over one week in, we’re already close to hitting our goal, so today, September 23rd at 5:00 pm Pacific/8:00 pm Eastern, we’re doing another live Q&A and unveiling some new rewards and tiers as requested by you guys! Tune into our Twitch channel – www.twitch.tv/loadingreadyrun to catch it live or watch the replay.

But before you watch that, try watching this week’s LoadingReadyRun video. As you might have guessed from this very blog post, Relaxation Situation is all about getting you to let go of those tiny stresses in your life, ideally so you can embrace much bigger, more pressing ones.

This week on Unskippable, Graham and Paul take on Remember Me. Also, no spoilers, but I’m not sure how any of the testimonials in the fake ad are supposed to sell me a product. Unless the intended result was to make me want to run away while screaming. If that was the case… Nailed it!

Finally this week on CheckPoint, we poke some fun at the GTA V companion app with Grand Theft Apple. Also, there is what could be construed as a threat, but it’s just a joke. Unless for some reason Persona 5 doesn’t get localized. Then all bets are off.

CommoBeej Beejustle and the LRR Beejstarter

Happy Monday everyone!

First of all, I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who has backed the LRR Kickstarter. We’ve been amazed with the response, which has surpassed even our wildest dreams. We are currently over 64% funded, and the Kickstarter hasn’t even been up for 48 hours! Your support means the world to us, and we’re beyond thrilled that so many people want to get involved in this project.

On an administrative note, we have heard your requests for “a la carte” add-ons for T-shirts, posters and pins, and we’re currently crunching numbers! We are also aware that some reward tiers sold out rather quickly (to our surprise), so we’re looking into options there too. Stay tuned to the Kickstarter and to the blog for updates.

Now, onto the videos!

First up this week is another dangerous flirtation with continuity from CommodoreHustle. Can Beej be un-memed, or will Cam just make it worse? Find out in… The Story of Beej!

Next up is Unskippable, with Graham and Paul taking on DARK, which if you can believe it after watching this episode… came out THIS YEAR. Anyhow, what is more horrifying than a Vampire? How about about a Bropire? Or just a Boringpire? They’re all here for  you to feel ambivalent about.

Finally, this week’s CheckPoint is Anger in Ouya Town. It’s all about Ouya’s Free The Games campaign, aka “Free money, few questions asked except by some legitimate indie developers, who think it’s not really being managed that well, and how much free money can you really afford to give away?” campaign. This week’s CheckPoint also lampoons the most annoying decision Disney has ever made, and that’s saying something.

LoadingReadyRun is doing a Kickstarter!

UPDATE: The KickStarter is now live! Please check it out, here!

LRR KS 577

If you were at the LoadingReadyRun panel at PAX Prime, you no doubt heard that we had decided to do a Kickstarter now that the service is available in Canada.

While we revealed a few things about what we had planned, we kept things vague in order to make sure everyone found out the full details at the same time, from the same source. Of course, it takes time to set up a Kickstarter and have it approved, so we apologize if you’ve been waiting with baited breath to finally find out what we have planned. Assuredly, we are just as excited as you are!

But guess what? Our Kickstarter is now approved, and we will be launching it on: Saturday, September 14, at 7:00 pm PDT.

To celebrate the launch, and to A any Qs you might have, we’ll also be doing a livestream on our Twitch channel – twitch.tv/loadingreadyrun!

P.S.

It is not to fund a hostile “Yummies Corp” takeover of Wizards of the Coast. There are no reward tiers that involve me getting a tattoo of a butt on my butt. Sadly, there are also no “Kathleen and Graham adopt all of Baxter’s siblings” stretch goals either.
