R.I.P John Hillerman (aka Higgins from Magnum P.I.)

Since I couldn't post this directly to the Magnum rewatch board. John Hillerman, the actor best known for his role as Higgins on the show Magnum P.I., has passed away from natural causes at the age of 84. https://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2017/11/09/arts/ap-us-obit-john-hillerman.html

I know it's been a ridiculously busy summer for me so far, but yeah, I don't want this place to die either.

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

...Holy christ, are you me? As of six months ago? Because holy shit, that sounds familiar, right up until I walked out this October.

All my sympathies and complete understanding. Good luck. You'll get there.

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

Bleh. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt a million times. If it's any comfort at all, in my job hunting experience that's usually code for 'we had a lot of people apply, we picked one, and we don't really care about anyone else at this point.' And it won't be forever--I got out after nine yea...

Well, I personally always try to staple garbage to the top of my posts, so I'm glad it's now that much easier.

I experience a lot of aesthetic attraction too, if that's any comfort to anyone. Just...ooooh, you're pretty. And have pretty eyelashes. And I like that scarf. Or, just, something <i>clicks</i> and I want to be friends with you and am getting butterflies for that. (And the occasional 'I am lonely as...

Re: Advice Thread

So, I bought a PS3 (CECH 3001A) used from my nephew a few months back. It's great! I love it! I've never really had a console before, so I'm really liking catching up on all the games I've missed over the years. Problem is...it Does. Not. Like to eject discs. I mean, I can manually eject the discs, ...

Re: As an American...

Honestly, I think it's just as well we're getting our Carnival of Crazy on at a federal level. It's just not as visible at the local levels we usually have and harder to poke fun at. At least when we do it at the same time as David Cameron and Jerry Bance, we know we're not alone in the world...

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules

Why does every interaction I have with government forms (regarding healthcare, student loans, etc) always start off with me thinking "oh, this looks so simple! No worries here!" and end with me completely ready to start dismantling a wall with my teeth? ...I say "end." I'm gettin...

I'm just...really, really sad that there'll never be a LoadingReadyRumble 3. Where everyone's fighting each other and then the big revealing plot twist at the end is...they were all Beej, all along.

So I was walking along and it randomly occurred to me (because my mind tends to wander pretty farrr sometimes) that you right-handed people must actually use your thumb to hit the spacebar in WASD+mouse controlled games. Does...does that feel weird? Does your hand get tired? It seems like it would ...

And actually, I would've thought the #1 bodily fluid to drink would've been saliva. Considering we normally drink it anyway?
