Re: Bill.

I had the great privilege of getting to meet Bill on a couple occasions - DB 2 and 3 (or was it 3 and 4?) and a couple fan events. He was genuinely, truly friendly and welcoming, a gregarious person with an open heart. I could tell he was a great guy and a genuine friend even with such short interac...

Re: Canadian Federal Election 2015

Well, I'll be voting after work. I think my inclination is to vote NDP - I've had their sign hanging in my window for months now, after all.

Re: Canadian Federal Election 2015

Maybe you guys can help... Obviously, I'm voting ABC. In my riding (Burnaby North-Seymour) it's very much a toss up. I lean NDP, and most local polls show the NDP candidate as the best chance of a non-Con win. Vote Together nevertheless recommends the Liberal candidate. Anyone But Harper.net shows t...

What part of the site do you get that image from? Because it doesn't reflect the current status of the polltracker.

Re: Canadian Federal Election 2015

TBF, the cons of all parties are most likely to outperform the polls due to 1) solid base of decided voters WHO ACTUALLY VOTE 2) exceedingly professional ground game/GOTV 3) money

Re: Canadian Federal Election 2015

The new Ipsos poll will likely tick those NDP numbers back a bit. I also find it a little bit (a lot) weird that the NDP is promising a balanced budget. I favor Keynesian economics in the broad strokes (to the extent I understand economics, which is little) and am generally an NDP supporter, so I'm ...

Re: Canadian Federal Election 2015

Personally, I'd keep the lower house FPTP and make the Senate functionally PR. If the Senate were somewhat beefed up but still the (polically) weaker house, I think it would be more effective as the "sober second thought" that the Senate is meant to perform. In reality, however, we're more...

Re: Canadian Federal Election 2015

Unless it somehow comes out that Harper personally ordered Nigel Wright to bribe Duffy, and that leads to an RCMP investigation into Harper himself, I think what damage the trial could do to the Conservatives has already happened. Honestly? I think wait until the Liberals/NDP start blowing their wa...

Re: The Semi-Annual Cheese Thread

I've just gotten into making cheese, and have just finished a batch of mozzarella (which was under $5 and made SO MUCH CHEESE). You should make burrata . Had it in a restaurant once with a sauteed peppers and onions, grilled flatbread, and greens, and it was amazing. I'm always partial to blue chee...

Re: Foods What We Have Made And Eaten

Tofu, on its own, is practically flavorless, with a veeeery slight bitter/acrid flavor. It takes on the flavor of what you cook or marinate it in.

Personally, the best thing I've found to do with it is cut it in to chunks, bread it with cornstarch and seasonings, and bake it to crispy.

Our photographer locked her keys in the car at our last location shoot! Fortunately we noticed right away so we did the photos while friends phoned and dealt with BCAA, so we were only a half hour late for the reception.

Shit happens, plan accordingly!

My father-in-law partook of it last year. Apparently you need to sign a $5000 waiver as the toe has been swallowed... multiple times.
