I came here to suggest Binary Domain, which I liken to Pacific Rim both in how awesome and in how stupid it is, but it looks like people have already talked it up enough.
I'd also like to back up Psychonauts as a choice. That game is legitimately terrific.

I've been excited about this game for a while. Really curious to see if it'll come over to North America, though I have to doubt it.

They probably even made some money on an exclusive distribution deal with GameStop.

That appears to be from later in this game. Now I wish there was a GPLP, just so I could hear Graham and Paul's reactions to that little nugget of gold.

Re: So, I started Chrono Trigger over the weekend...
The best thing about games of that time was that they had such a huge scope. Chrono Trigger had what, five or six time periods, each of which was like a separate world? Final Fantasy VI had two huge sprawling worlds which were very different from each other. Nowadays we're lucky if we get two mediu...

Re: Suspiciously Good Movers
Now, on a serious note. Was it just me that thought the video was too short for it's subject? Let me explain. Normally, when you have something this absurd and being played straight as it was, it's either a short video that feels like "Hey, we don't have a teleporter... well we do... RUN!"...

So, I started Chrono Trigger over the weekend...
I wasn't around for the SNES era of video games. When Chrono Trigger came out in '95, I was only 2 years old. I don't really feel like I missed out on anything, though. Despite all of the praise those older games get, I always brush it off as nostalgia for a simpler time. Giant Bomb recently started...

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles is hitting North America!
The question of whether this is a game that will sell well or not is almost a non-issue. Take a look at sales figures for recent JRPGs. The numbers below are all from VHChartz , which I believe to be accurate. Monster Hunter Tri Japan - 1,054,200 US - 454,925 Europe - 305,480 Keep in mind with this ...

Good thing I have this terabyte hard drive and nothing to stock on it.
As the archives on TTV go, it still looks like it's all there to me. Probably better to wait for the torrent, though.

On Twitch, the clipped-out section becomes its own page on the site. Like this clip, the Tim Schafer call-in. On that page, there's a gear icon beneath the video player, which opens a menu, which has an option to export to YouTube. That'll bring up another window, presuming you're logged in to YouTu...

Re: desert bus video thread
"Capture and upload" is a little weird phrasing, so I'd like to clarify how TwitchTV/JustinTV's archives work. The website records and saves the entire stream. The only things missing is stuff that didn't make it to the website - either because the feed got cut, the internet went down, or ...

I'd love to help out with scrubbing through the JTV archive. I was thinking of putting up a post about it near the end of Desert Bus, but thought, "Man, this sounds totally insane. No one'd do it." Turns out, you're all way more insane that I thought. I should note, going through the JTV a...

Re: Ye Olde Official Skyrim Discussion Thread (Spoilers?)
The Steed Stone actually just gives you +100 to Carry Capacity, as well as making you ignore movement speed penalties from armor. There's also a perk at the top of the Pickpocket tree that increases it by a further 100. Every time you level up, if you choose Stamina, you get +5 carry capacity. The o...

I really liked the new style for this. Very much like Doctor Who Confidential, the behind-the-scenes for Doctor Who. It at least looked professional, which is something.
I'd love to see more like this, but as the others said, maybe a few more shots of the goofiness that goes on.

I'm not saying it gives Davies a free ride, I'm just saying that it's not as bad as it could be.

Re: Doctor Who End of Time Part 2
I personally enjoyed most of the stuff Davies had written. While it's not the best writing ever, surely you'd all agree that he's nowhere near as terrible as Stephenie Meyer. Yes, there were flaws, but come on, we're not expecting H.G. Wells to grace us all with some Doctor Who, are we? I won't deny...

Re: What we can expect on The Escapist
I believe Graham has said, on multiple occasions, that LRR is retaining creative control of LRR. That's the agreement. This deal is a licensing agreement, where the weekly LRR videos are hosted and viewed exclusively on the Escapist website, whereas the deal with Zero Punctuation and Unskippable are...
