I thought it was a school project at first but following the link in the description leads to a site where you can download a demo or buy the game. It looks to be a real game in the vein of MS train or flight sim.

I can't tell if the website for the game is legit or just an elaborate hoax. If it is legit someone spent way too much effort on this.
