Re: OGW Pre-release: how'd you do?
Went 2-2 with a blue-red deck that had a lot of decent removal, but didn't have many bombs to take it over the edge. The key success of the evening were some cards I wanted for commander. Got the Izzet man land and Jori En for my spell slinging deck. Had one misplay with forgetting an ability on one...

Re: The Limited thread
I managed to win a match in my third draft, fourth time playing magic. I found myself in red-blue, thanks to some odd passes from the people to my right. That said, for as nice as my cards got, the card that won me the day was Goblin Glory Chaser. Turn 1- Goblin Glory Chaser Turn 2 - Call of the ful...

Re: The Limited thread
Just started playing magic and started with limited, thanks to LRR videos. Two drafts into my career, and while I haven't won a match yet, I think my drafts have been pretty solid. And I'm a master of forcing game three. Also, I pulled a Nissa and Lilliana in two weeks, so my actual card-pulling luc...

Inazuma Eleven? Mara. EDIT: Wait, it's not really your turn. The winner of the last one gets to decide the next one. That means it's LogicSword's turn to post something. Sorry! I like your avatar though :D that's from Nuts & Bolts, right? Oh man, I checked the original post, but I must have mis...

Re: Name that Game!
Seeing a soccer screen put me in mind of this game, which I would guess is obscure enough to merit a challenge:
A game that is totally ridiculous, and great because of it.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
I just played through this recently after getting it in the Steam Sale. I was told I would cry, and I totally did. The game was pretty great, and the only complaint I could ever have was the occasional "Search for an item you know that you need, but you will need to hunt for." Those get a ...

Re: Non-violent games
Animal Crossing? Seems very non-violent to me. Pullblox or as it is called overseas Pushmo. Tom Nook's aggressive business practices make you wish there was violence though. I had a lot of fun with Snuggle Truck on Steam. It's about driving stuffed animals, so I think it's in the clear in terms of ...

Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
So, I've never had the chance to pick up and play the original, but I finally have an idea of what is meant by the phrase: "That's XCOM." It would be unfair to say that I lost my assault unit solely because it missed a point-blank shot on a chrysalid. It would, however be fair to say that ...

I want this game pretty desperately, but I don't know if I have the time to play it. I mean, I have time to play the campaign, but I would spend to long on the customization aspect.

Re: MTGO Newbs looking to draft
As someone else who is intrigued by the wonderful world of Magic and, more specifically drafting, but without the means/funds to do so, I have found a fun draft substitute I call "Try to Understand Why People Are Excited." All you have to do is find a draft stream to watch and then try to ...

Re: FTL: Faster Than Light
Been hooked on this for a while. So hooked me and a friend have started modding the game to add more ships. If you ever are looking for an idea for a ship to create, I would personally recommend a Desert Bus ship. Modding is one of those things I know just enough about to know how poor I'd be at it...

And Holy crap! That panel was fun to be at and to watch all over again!
And they were some sweet playmats, which I say with only a little bit of knowledge of Magic, but it's sweet nonetheless.

Re: FTL: Faster Than Light
OH! I remembered what it was: In the spirit of Roguelikes, it'd be kinda nice to have the chance of your later ships coming across the wreckage of one of your earlier attempts . Not get any benefit or anything from it (maybe a couple pieces of scrap), but more for a feeling of continuity. :) Heck, ...

I found a guy named Dengler in an escape pod once, but it didn't also show the name Steven, so I was a bit unsure. Then I found a guy named Steven and figured that having both in my crew was close enough.

Re: FTL: Faster Than Light
I will say that, upon more horrendous boarding failures and lost Mantis crew, some tooltips should be a bit more clear. The anti-bio beam clearly indicates it damages enemy crew. It should just say that it greatly damages all crew members. I'm not the smartest FTL player, but I like to think the dev...

I really need to stop using my teleportation module in asteroid fields. I have lost so many crew members to stupid boarding raids.
Also fun is when the other ship makes a jump with your guys still on it.

I'd also recommend this for fans of repeated deaths.

I always remember hearing that the midwest had really neutral dialects, though perhaps I heard it that way because I lived in the midwest. That being said, places like Texas don't really try to pass off their accent as neutral. On an un-related note, while I agree that Seth McDebit really shouldn't ...

Re: Lone Survivor
I haven't finished this game, but I super enjoyed what I have played so far. At one point, I heard a monster, so I tried to turn on my light to see him. I accidentally fired my gun instead. The muzzle burst let me know that the monster was six inches from me. I had to put the game down for a while.

Excellent stuff. Who's the writer on this one? I didn't recognize the name. Spoiler Alert: There's not a whole lot to recognize. Besides this, there are two chapters of the "Dengler and Butts" story from Desert Bus Five (chapters four and ten). There are other things too, like school assi...
