Re: Sixth Annual Secret Santa: Sign Ups Now Closed

It seems as though the gift I sent has not arrived! Hopefully it will soon and this is just the post being slow. :( if it hasn't arrived by the end of the month, I'll send another. I'm so sorry!

Re: The Magic Venting Thread

Yes. If, by contrast, Player A had cast the draw spell and then before it resolved, either had realized themselves or Player B had mentioned that they should tap their mana differently, it wouldn't really be an issue. It's totally different to doing it after you've seen what you drew. Same with chan...

Re: The Magic Venting Thread

Possibly an unpopular opinion, but... I am so sick of people expecting me to let them take back plays after something has changed/the board state has advanced. Even at prerelease when not everyone knows all the cards, I feel it is unreasonable to expect your opponent to let you change your mind afte...

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League

I think 6-3 is a more typical mix because it's same ratio as 4-2 which I believe is the "official" way to do sealed? I don't have a problem either way, though. Just whatever the consensus is is fine with me!

Re: Sixth Annual Secret Santa: Sign Ups Now Closed

Hey, I'm so embarrassed because I keep forgetting to post about my Secret Santa present! It seems like every time I remember I get busy, and then when I have some downtime it slips my mind. So, thank you Secret Santa! Your gift was extremely appreciated and I am sorry it took me so long to post abou...

Re: Your 5 2015 favourites

I tend to sort of haphazardly approach media so this probably doesn't bear a lot in common with other people's lists, but, in no particular order... Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt -- excellent little TV show, great theme song, really funny, eminently rewatchable. Shameless (US) -- Not really from 2015, b...

Re: Feminism general thread

This reminds me of something that happened a couple of weeks ago. My friend's mother well-meaningly took me out to get my Christmas present, which as it turned out was she was going to get my ears pierced for me. She told me I wasn't allowed to say no. I know that no doubt sounds very petty to you a...

Re: Feminism general thread

Personally, I don't find this to be the case for me. I'm not sure why, though I could speculate at length, but a raised voice from a man or woman doesn't affect me particularly in and of itself. I believe the people saying that it's that terrifying to them, but I personally don't experience that. I ...

Re: The General Chat thread

It's a pretext to get yourself and the object of your affections alone and inside together, with something to do so that it's not just awkward, but you both know that something is heavily implied... but ideally, no pressure if things don't work out. That said, I've had two different people this week...

Re: Sixth Annual Secret Santa: Sign Ups Now Closed

I just remembered that I never posted an update saying that mine was in the mail!

... and then that reminded me that I forgot to put my forum name in the package in any way.

Once you receive your present I would be happy to drop you a hint that it was me if you fancy.

Re: Useful Resources

Do note that it is not the most appropriate place to seek help if you're actively in crisis (i.e. need emergency attention), but 7 Cups of Tea is a place you can go and talk to someone if there's something that you need to talk out or if something is troubling you. I appreciate that this kind of ser...

The_lone_bard, are you a trained medical professional? Because if not, don't mess around with "there's no way I could fit this closely..." based on a wiki page. If you have concerns, go see a professional who can diagnose you properly if appropriate, don't jump to conclusions. It sounds li...

Re: What is a videogames?

I can't speak for all MUDs because I don't have a particularly wide experience, but one thought comes to mind immediately: other people. A CYOA e-book is a solo experience, whereas a MUD (even if the MUD in question doesn't make particularly strong use of it) is by definition going to be a multiuser...

Re: Fantasy Mafia: Game Finished

This is a good opportunity to point out something I've been having to resist most of the game: korvys was (mostly) a jailkeeper ( http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Jailkeeper ) not a roleblocker. I always thought a jailkeeper was a specific kind of roleblocker. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Re: Fantasy Mafia: Game Finished

I'm not a fan of revealing PMs in general, whether town or mafia, so I'm also inclined to agree with that. I just don't fancy the strategy. I'm also surprised by the sheer power level of the game (though that's not a complaint; just an observation). It was pretty unexpected for me to functionally ha...

Re: TTC 106 - Mailbag Episode 4

Also from Theros, Cavalry Pegasus also cared about humans. Xathrid Necromancer also cares about humans. I know that's only a couple of cards but that kind of gets in the way of the claim that they only mattered in Innistrad and "never before or since". Especially since some of the cards th...

I intended to post mine a few days ago but I made a mistake with my screencap and it didn't end up happening, and haven't been able to redo it yet. Will do it within the next few hours, hopefully that is before the deadline but if I miss out, I miss out.
