Well, they've "quit" in the same way that Tim "quit", which is to say that no one really quits. They've got their own lives going on and if the chance to be in a video presents itself, they likely will.

This doesn't actually change how Bill and Morgan have been for the last several years, and they've still shown up from time to time. We're just wording it differently because they're not week-in week-out contributors.

Don't count them out yet :D

Exactly! It's important to remember what I said: Nothing is actually different, they are in the same state of "still our friends but not really in LRR" that they've been for years now.

On a more positive note, it's great to see the other regular contributors added to the page. And I really like the idea of Brad as Official LRR Historian.

Did the forums for the Daily Drop go away? Ironically, I'm working on the Daily Drop episodes page, and I dunno if there was any relevant info on the forums.

I run Chrome, and I did a refresh, a hard refresh x15, and a cache clear, and this is still what I am getting. Though I did just check and I have my browser set to 120% zoom. It looks fine at 100% though. I just want you to see what I am having trouble with.

Yeah Browser Zoom screws with a lot of web design, it's not really something CSS can account for.

Though if you zoom in some more, it starts looking right again (at least for me).

Browser zoom is crazy. The army travel page could only be accessed via a secure computer with internet explorer 7 zoomed to 125%.

Any time anyone in the army (1.1 million people) had to go anywhere more than 150 miles away they had to use that crap (sigh)

I guess what I am saying is you guys are way better at web design than the United States Army and they have a annual budget of 244 billion dollars.

It was all screwy in Chrome 24 on OSX 10.8.2, until I turned off adblock plus, then everything worked perfectly and I kinda went "ooh! new layout!" About the third or fourth thing I noticed was that there were no more ad banners on the front page. That was also exciting!

It's sad that this site is just about the only one that I look forward to design changes on. Most people make their sites less usable and less intuitive. Yours has continually improved over the years.

edit to add:
I've also duplicated the browser zoom issue in Chrome. The layout goes a little tweaky at all zoom levels except for 100% and 150%. I haven't tried it in other browsers.

HMM.
Small bug report: The most recent video slideshow, the navbar and the sidebar are all loading properly, but none of the blog posts are loading. Instead, all I get below the slideshow is text:
"1.3MB
0.6890"
"My favourite song is 'Girl Panic!'... because girls make me panic... in a good way!"
- Simon Le Bon.

Never mind, whatever it was is now fixed. I think it may have been a problem at my end - I accidentally posted twice because ... something something gateway. :P

I've got a similar issue now. Mine says:
"25.35MB
26.9977"

Should I grab a screencap or page source? I gather the front page is almost all scripted.

Strike that. It's working again.

From a wiki point of view if there is a way to keep these old video threads but keep them hidden from the casual visitor might be best.

lrr.cc links aren't working anymore.
It used to be that links like http://lrr.cc/1498 would take you to http://loadingreadyrun.com/videos/view/1498 , but it doesn't seem to work correctly anymore.

There are various video pages in the wiki that use lrr.cc links for the Watch link, and the short url is definitely twitter-friendly.

(also, forum header still says 8.0)

Mine says 9.0 have you refreshed the page yet? Try shift + refresh or ctrl + F5 that has worked for some people.

The slow ads being gone makes page loads so much more... instant!

And also the new home page is... better. In fact, it's freaking beautiful.

Basically, I just wanted to throw in my "you guys are awesome."

Also, I have this problem (not the dates, but the "LRRcast

FEED" thing on the bottom) at normal zoom. I have to go all the way out to 60% to make it one line.

Son of a-- Hmm, it looks like some of the redirects got hosed with the update. Thanks for letting me know. They should be working again now.

As for still seeing the v8.0 header on the forums, I don't know what to tell you. The new header is definitely there and the v8.0 header in not on the server anymore. I guess Chrome is weirdly aggressive about caching some things. All I can say is clear your cache and force refresh.

I will look into the sidebar text wrapping when it shouldn't.

Google Chrome caches even when you switch off caching via it's own developer tools, and then still takes 2 hard refreshes to get the idea. Apparently Google think caching is a really good thing.

For the LRRCasts, the actual text/icon don't seem to function as links so instead I just get a highlight-y text cursor when I mouse over them. I can get to the video LRRcast by carefully clicking the light blue areas without text, but that's rather inconvenient.
