More specific error messages and/or screenshots would help.

Not just you. Happened to me, too, before the whole forum went down.

This same one that was shown before.

I have disabled all cloudflare intervention (except for spam protection) for the forums. Let me know if you continue to have problems.

Um. I have no idea if this is Cloudflare related, but attempting to load the site, I got a weird interstitial telling me my computer or one on the network was infected with Malware. A second attempt succeeded.

Gotta say, if this IS Cloudflare, I'm really, really disliking the experience.

Did you read the page and leave a message?

Re: CloudFlare

I did not. I was worried initially that it wasn't actually your site, and the old instinct of 'get away!' kicked in.

That page is to fight spammers, of which there are a lot on these forums. If you don't leave a message, I don't know which one is you (or another human) and I can't whitelist you. Maybe we can lighten the security at a later stage to reduce the false-positives, but until then, follow the instructions on the pages.

How clear can we make that page, so people like Jack don't just go, "AHH, MALWARE!" and leave?

Graham: Do your best to design it in the LRR website style, if possible. It's the sudden "Oh shit"ness of it you're trying to avoid. Also, bringing it up in a blog post might be a good idea.

You can't change the design very much on the free account. You can change some of the blocks of text and the colouring, but that's about it.

Graham: Just changing the colouring to LRR colours might be enough. There's an interface to change that stuff in the CloudFlare account.

I've also dropped the security setting from "high" to "medium" to reduce false-positives, but that may increase the number of spammers that get through. If the forums are hit again, let me know and I'll bump it back up to "high".

Ashton: Seriously, the colours? Would do so much good.

Question: is this part of the reason the LRR wiki is occasionally slow as all hell?

Re: CloudFlare

No, this has nothing to do with the wiki slowness. MediaWiki is just a resource hog.

Hrm.

Nevertheless, it IS slower than it used to be. I don't think it's my imagination.

I'm occasionally getting forum errors. I remembered to screencap the most recent one. Here's the link I was following
Here's the screencap:
Image

Chrome 26.0.1410.65 (Adblock Plus is disabled for loadingreadyrun.com, and I have HTTPS Everywhere installed, though it's not forcing secure for LRR.)
OSX 10.8.3

this blog post is having PHP issues. I wasn't sure where else to post this.

I'm getting 500, 502, and 504 errors when trying to access the forums. There's no information on the offending pages except the code and its translation (500 internal server error, 502 bad gateway, 504 gateway timed out), and the code "cloudflare-nginx" just below the error. I've screenshots if they'll do any good.

I'm seeing the exact same thing on the home page, right now.

Ok, I think I figured out the problem (nothing to do with CloudFlare). I was choosing the random video for the sidebar in dumb way but it should be fixed now. Please let me know and screenshot if you see the error again.

I was pretty sure it wasn't Cloudflare-related (the PHP issue), but I can't create threads in this forum. C'est la vie, c'est la guerre.

You can't create threads in "Site News"? or anywhere?

Just "site news." PHPBB calls the subforums forums, which are classified into groups, on a board.

I thought most all forum software did that.
Where subforums are forums inside of forums like this one (i.e. Site News, or possibly General Discussion or something, but not all software does that).
