Re: Mass Effect 2
You might have to gain his loyalty, too. Probably need to do the Paragon route.

After about two missions everyone usually has more to say.
If you're playing as femshep and are trying to romance Garrus there's a very humorous exchange about inter-species erotica. *Remember how humans and turians can't drink the same stuff, well, that also applies to turian...fluids.*
There's a similar exchange for male Shepard's and Tali, but it's not nearly as funny.

is there some way to fix that or am I screwed?
if you're on the 360, maaaaybe... i know for the PC version they got around to fixing it, and it was an automatic fix. but for 360, you might have to go through EA support and get them to link your gamertag with an EA account. and i hear that is a total pain in the ass.
Is it possible to just erase the mass effect 2 data and reinstalling instead of having to call EA?

Re: Mass Effect 2
Beat it, not really sure what I thought. I GUESS I liked it. Very much an Empire Strikes Back kind of game, really just a set up for the sequel. And in the future they don't have fish tanks with an automatic feeder? Now I'm just achievement whoring, doing the skill ones first then getting level thirty and insanity at the same time.

You can get Kelly to feed them.
I'm about 3/4ths through on Insanity mode. The collector missions can get pretty brutal at times; everything else is manageable as long as you don't get sloppy. The only achievement I need besides the Insanity one is Warp Specialist. I'll probably have to reload 50 times on a collector ship in order to get it. So far I only have 11/25 barriers warp'd.
Re: Mass Effect 2
Finished it and started my second playthrough on insanity mode, got my face turned into gelatin on the first planet and decided to take some more time away. Got the save everybody achievement, so that's good.

Re: Mass Effect 2
I beat it on Insanity with no casualties, crew is still alive. In all honesty the hardest part of the final mission was the tube escort, simply because of the time limit.
Getting that last Warp Specialist achievement is going to be a pain.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Just get both of your teammates to have maxed out warps and have them combo enemies with it. That's how I got the pyrotechnician achievement.

Re: Mass Effect 2
It sounds simple enough, but you have to rely on the NPC's to drop the barriers and then reload your save over and over until you've reached 25.
It's more tedious and boring than challenging.

You can tell your teammates to use their powers, y'know?

No, I also beat Insanity mode without knowing how to shoot either.

I know you're joking, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Key to having everyone survive? Upgrade the Normandy, do all loyalty quests and think logically about who you choose to do what on the suicide mission.
Still massively disappointed with ME2. Too many complaints: Those who care to see my issues go here.

Re: Mass Effect 2
I'm pretty excited to see what Legion's insights on the Geth produce in Mass Effect 3, but for now he's one of the most fascinating characters.
Like, he's coldly logical most of the time, but when you ask him about the N7 armour he welded to partially repair himself, he directly avoids answering, as if to hide that he was being sentimental.

They should rename Insanity mode.
It should be called Skull Fuck Death-o-matron.

Yeah, it's pretty friggin' hard on some of the collector missions. I hear it's damn near impossible for the tech class. A big part of it depends on your class, as a soldier I was able to do well but the redundant ammo types didn't help much.
I had a REALLY tough time with Scions until figuring out how much damage headshots do on them. You can take one down with four shots using the Widow. I kept wasting ammo and getting swarmed by husks until I just started bringing the flamethrower. Heavy weapons don't really matter as much if you're already getting headshots.
The only thing which makes me a little sad is there's no special reward besides the achievement. A weapon or outfit would have been nice.

I did quite well as an Infiltrator on Insanity, Assassin's Cloak + Kill was VERY useful, but it did get intense, previously having an AR from the first playthrough helped. And Reave was a lifesaver.

Yeah, get into the habit of manually saving when you get a break in combat. It will save your ass many times.
Re: Mass Effect 2
Just beat it with my shep, from ME1, everyone survived, now just to wait for ME3.

Thing is, the option is grayed out. I do this all the time, y'know.
Re: Mass Effect 2
The only time it's greyed out for me is if I'm still in combat. SHRUG.
Re: Mass Effect 2
Fuck a bunch of insanity mode, It makes me want to break the disc, and I can't have those feelings about Mass Effect.
