Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Just got disconnected, but the server still shows as up. When I try to join it says "java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: no further information:"
Any ideas what may cause that?
EDIT: Never mind, appears the server went down entirely shortly there after.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Not sure, but I put it back up when I noticed.
I've considered turning off fire spreading, but I've been trying to figure out the impact of that. I do like it being more realistic, but it's also abusable. I need to strike the right balance.

Hey Memo, I see you've cut off west of -1536. Just to say (a) please don't chop any further (!) and (b) is it okay to explore that way, or are we waiting for something?
Thanks,
Alex

Alex: That was a LITTLE closer than I intended, but I didn't see anyone's coords or buildings further than that.
Exploration past that is not encouraged until after 1.8. Small-scale stuff, fine, but nothing hundreds of blocks in.
Also, to everyone, regarding the griefer, I saw several requests and I complied. This is now on the Spawn platform:

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Well, I guess that answers my concern about lag from my end. I hope I didn't cause too much trouble in the 5-ish minutes I was there. I guess I'll stick to singleplayer for now then. Sorry.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Wait, what? I wasn't really concerned about the Visitor status lagging the server, unless it got up to like 20 people. Also, you got authorized, so that wasn't a problem anymore. Are you referring to your own lag and not server lag? You caused zero trouble. If I sounded cranky at all, it's because I haven't slept yet.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Yeah I meant my own lag. It was chugging pretty bad before it timed me out, so I decided not to risk it, just in case. I'm looking at getting a better connection soon. It's all good.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
When in comes to fire spread it should be no problem to disable it. There were some large forest fires on the LRRcraft server which made Fugi decide to turn off fire spread. It shouldn't have any impact on anything else.
THE DUTCH!! THE DUTCH AGAIN!!!!!

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
As far as I'm aware, fire has three (legitimate) uses: activating Nether portals, burning on Netherrack, and clearing trees. Only one of those would be impacted without fire spread, though it does take the risk out of putting an incorrectly-spaced fireplace in a wood/wool house.
Not that any of us have EVER done that before...
On another note, yay the map's back up! AdmiralMemo, with your permission I'd like to stake a claim on the Birch Forest island at 1800, -1600. Once I get myself settled in there I plan to manually fix the terrain error caused by the different versions intersecting. EDIT: I dropped a chest and crafting table on the island, with signs to indicate I'm awaiting build approval before I go any further.
And finally, holy carp, Fishman! We have mycelium on the map! WANT.

Is there anyone at http://map.lrrcraft.com/#/-847/64/-1933/-1/0/0? I would like to use that mountain for resources

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Yeah, the mushroom biome up north has been found for a while.
Kino: For resources, yes, since it'll be chopped off later. I'd already discouraged one person from settling there.
Deimir: I already chopped that area off since the last map render, but since the birch is in the 1.7 area, it should regenerate.
Tensen: Perfectly fine.

Excellent. When I get home I shall cut down a mountain
Re: LRR Minecraft Server
As far as chopping goes, I outlined the extent of my important underground stuff:
The coordinates are the end of my mini-rail system to the bottom of my mine. Anything in this region outside that box can, in the immortal words of Alex, spaghet-f****d.
Hopefully that helps Memo with the chopping.

I'd like to put up stakes at X: -350, Z: 1800. I've already started building there, but I can find another place if it's not cool.

I am starting out in X:390 Z:220. I do not believe there is much else around.

Okay, I don't know what happened after I left with respect to the mountain tunnel etc but I feel a bit better now. I admit I was kinda annoyed. I'm also one of those "everything must be just-so" sort of people so I'd rather deal with the cleanup. SAJewers can stay where he is if no one else minds, whatevs, just please nobody touch the mountain or the tower. Thanks.
PS: If you harvest wood from a tree in the wilderness, please remove the whole tree (and preferably replant). Floating pieces of wood in an area that is supposed to look "natural" hurts my brain.

Uh oh. I think the server disliked what I was doing to those poor captive chickens in the chicken pit and died.
I don't blame it.

Yea, terribly sorry about that. I had never realized you had the entire hill to yourself. If I had known, I never would've did anything there. I felt really bad after. When I get back on later this morning, I'll get rid of the tunnel and the ladder.

Hi Folks, I have erected a rudimentary noob shelter to use as a base at around 1212,-90. Shouldn't make too much of an impact on my surroundings as I am just learning the game. If any problems, you can get me on iain at isellpianos dot co dot uk. Thanks!

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Memo, can we get a server status on the Lrrcraft site?
Something simple informing us whether the server is online, and when offline why it is Offline.
Not too difficult I think and it would improve a lot.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
If it's down, it wasn't planned, and it'll need to wait until about 2 PM EST for me to fix.
If I can write a script that pings the server on the right port, I can have a live status on the site. I need to figure out how to do that, though.
