It will probably surprise nobody to hear that I go by the moniker Tanatoes on MTGO. I've lost a couple drafts now but it's good practice for next FNM I suppose.

ecocdavid here and I just logged on for the first time in 4 years this past weekend, because I'm planning to hit a dead-tree pre-release in Madison with some friends. Manaburn is gone? No more stacking creature damage? Madness!

Momir basic is a lot of fun and I'm looking into Pauper right now, because I think I can afford it. It's amazing how much I suck at drafting given how solid I am at playing so it's just not worth the money for me.

I was actually one of the original beta testers so I remember when it really was modo.exe developed by Leaping Lizards. In other news, I'm old.

How does one apply to join a clan? I sent ElominSha a message through the MTGO buddy system, but I'm not sure if that's the right way to go about things. There doesn't appear to be a "request to join" button or anything, but in truth I find the MTGO GUI awfuly confusing most of the time.

I cant belive you ever dont find it confusing. I purchased a account, spent two hours getting smacked down with preconstructed decks then tried to build my own, only to have Mtgo yell at me every time I tried because I had the wrong kind of deck, it wasnt the correct format, or I didnt have that many of a card in my library. The last one I was really confused by How did I put two zombies in my hand if dont have any zombies in my library?

mowdownjoe on MTGO. Mostly play Momir Basic because I'm poor, but I draft every now and then.

if we can get enough people, how would you all feel about a LRRdraft?

8 of us getting together and doing a draft in MTGO?

Sounds like fun. Is there a way to host our own draft, or would we just have to make a run on an open one and hope we all manage to get in?

I think you can do a friends only one, if not i'm sure we can all make a run on an open one if we wait for one to fire and jump in one.

Judging from the amount of people who play Momir Basic, is there any way we could arrange a game night of that? Creatures you've never seen guaranteed! (Phage not guaranteed.)

Momir alone is worth the cost of the Deck and MTGO.

Just finished a game that i got a Dragon Broodmother going in it.

Spent a couple rounds pooping 1/1 dragon tokens, then the next wave of tokens were 5/5 dragon tokens :D

Someone I played Momir with got really luck with a creature that let him kill things at the end of turn if a creature died that turn. I thought I avoided it one turn, and then he got a creature that had toughness equal to the number of creatures in the discard pile. It died immediately, triggering the morbid ability. It was crazy.

Yeah, it's hilarious when you get the really terrible (in the format) creatures... I got Broodstar once... as a ten-drop 0/0 creature. Woo.

Meanwhile, a friend and I decided for shenanigans that we wouldn't activate Momir before turn 10, so we could get some more ridiculous creatures out... Both times we tried it, his 10-drop was Progenitus.

The best Momir Fail card IMO? Scornful Egotist. MTGO needs a "wah-wah-waaaaaaaah" sound effect just for it.

That card doesn't look useful in any format. Why would you ever morph it?

It mostly exists just to combo with cards like Rush of Knowledge and Dispersal Shield. And even then, it's still not great.

Buzzkill alert! There's an entire 96 page thread devoted to Magic. This thread is for MTGO user names. You can always create a new thread if you want to talk about Momir in particular, but this isn't the place to discuss.
