Hard West (Kickstarter) - XCOM meets Cowboys

Postby Cobblepotter » 11 Aug 2014, 03:03

For anyone here who really enjoyed XCOM: Enemy Unknown (be it from playing it or watching Cam's stream), this is a really interesting Kickstarter project.

It looks like it takes the base gameplay mechanics of XCOM and puts it in a rich Wild West setting, complete with all the possibilities the Wild West setting has to offer. Stuff like ricocheting bullets, kicking over bar tables for cover, finding enemies from their long shadows, bribing enemy goons with sacks of coin to turn tail or turn sides.

It's developed by a company made up of Call of Juarez and Dead Island producers, and they're asking for $70,000. It's set to be released on Steam.

I love me some Wild West, and a turn-based XCOM like Western game definitely appeals to me.

I've already done like 6 or 7 kickstarters that haven't been fulfilled yet, so I might hold off on this until it gets closer to the end.

Color me interested. When it comes out.
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

I don't trust the Dead Island producers as far as I can throw them. Consider me in the same camp as Prospero101.
