Also the servers are rubbish (or at least they are in the UK right now).

My bus journey into work let me investigate the route for GOness.

In fact, I'm only a mile away from basic Gym and stops.

But still, that's one mile to restock on Pokeballs. The intent is to restock at "base" and go out to catch. Not the other way round.

The game is currently almost unplayable in the European evening which is annoying since that is when I have time to play it.

Flakiness is good with bread rolls... Servers? No so much...

I'm suffering through some server reliability issues as well, taking longer than desired to get into the game. Made it difficult to tell if I'm still defending my hometown's gym or not. The only hint I have is that I'm starting to earn PokéCoins (granted it's only a measly 10 coins... with a real-world equivalence of $0.10 US, but that's less money I have to spend on stuff, should I actually buy PokéCoins).

I am still out of Pokeballs.

I tried going around town where I work to hunt for Pokestops. Whenever I got to one, there was no free Wi-Fi in the area.

This game is unplayable for me.

I've found it kind of weird that once I got to a high enough level and stops were giving me stuff besides pokeballs I'm have a very hard time maintaining my pokeball level. I'm running out super fast, and things are getting harder to catch. A little frustrating. The servers have been acting up, too, and that's no fun.

But I'm still enjoying it, and am still super hyped, and I think I sold two people I interacted with today on trying it. Will likely go for a nice bike ride in the morning and hit the loop of stops near my house and hatch an egg or two.

Still no official release date for Argentina/South America, though there's people already downloading the app "off the record".

I like the concept, but I keep on reading critiques on how the app taxes the battery, and that it has to be "on" all the time so it'll register this and that, and how unresponsive it can be when trying to catch/fight Pokemon. That and the fact that I don't use data transfer and cannot rely on free wi-fi make the app sound like a nuisance.

I wonder how long will the novelty last.

I'm a little pissed off with Team Valor right now... pretty blew my stash of potions working on my hometown gym for about 30 minutes (taking the Gym Leader spot & leave an open slot for another pokémon to defend it) & not more than 5-10 minutes after I left for the nearest PokéStop & it changed hands.

I hope Team Mystic comes back in vengeance... or I'll even settle for Team Instinct taking over for a while since my non PokéBall supplies are running a bit low ATM.

SUPPLEMENTAL: At least I they were polite enough for me to claim my defender bonus... which is the only consolation I have find here.

I just started on Saturday. I am enjoying it quite a bit, but yeah servers have issues. However, I feel like almost every major launch of a massively multiplayer game has server issues. They didn't correctly anticipate server load and in this they are not alone as far as splashy releases.

I don't actually mind terribly, I consider it par for the course and am reasonably confident that it will get fixed.

I'm viewing this game as a pretty polished beta. A game with good bones and plenty of room to improve and expand. And it encourages me to get out and maybe even go on walks! Madness!

Also, Team Mystic.

I lost Pokeballs due to lack of polish, and I have no way of getting more.
It's definitely not in a release state. Unplayable in some populated areas of the world for a game that's about travelling isn't great.

It's in a release state for functionality, but for playability, blame Niantic for just importing the Ingress database. There needs to be a way of submitting portals again for low-population areas.

Wish I could. Have tossed so many Revives, Potions, and Pokeballs to make room for Super Potions and Great Balls. Whenever I get over 100 Pokeballs, I start culling.

I got 5 Pokeballs at the pub I went to with my parents tonight. Caught a Venonat.

That's it.

A few weeks in and still having fun. Powerleveled from 17 to 20 on Friday. Hatching eggs, hitting stops and finally fighting in Gyms!

Thinking of going a bit further to a park reported to have a Charmander nest. And there is apparently a shopping center not too far with a Magikarp nest of all things.

But hey, those karp candies aren't going to collect themselves.

Currently out today with the girlfriend. She's having a ridiculously hard time getting potions (like it's less of a time investment to catch and evolve new Pokemon than it is to heal injured ones), so the plan is to hit as many Pokestops as possible.

I myself do not play, as my phone's screen is too small of a resolution and I therefore can't even download the app. :P
