Oh hey, it's ENN- I mean Definitely Not ENN For Legal Reasons. Nice! Good to see the format make its triumphant return.
Also: My PS3 is white, heavy, and noisy as hell. Am I safe?

Re: CheckPoint Episode 1
Love the new show! I've missed ENN, so I'm ecstatic that it's back like this.
I'm curious about the microphone though. It seems that the quality of the voice recording isn't as good as that of the music (understandable given Bradley records music for a living)
Maybe it's just me, but it stood out a little more than I'm used to. Perhaps it was the overall quality of everything else that made me notice it... (the graphics, music and jokes are superb)
Was this done on the normal boom mic? Am I just insane?
I don't want this to seem like a dig at the quality of your work. This is merely a tiny little thing I noticed in what was a supremely focused amount of awesome.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yesssss! Best birthday surprise ever! I missed ENN shenanigans, and I'm super excited to have the news team back together. The graphics are beautiful (GRAHAM HOW DO YOU GRAPHICS SO WELL?!) the music is lovely and the exuberance is palpable. And you're on PATV! Super excite! I want in on the ground floor.
As for the episode itself, I was laughing like a fool at Paul's slow description of a toaster, and the egg bit was just excellent. I can't wait for more!

O, and is Penny Arcade TV bigger than the Escapist? Or better in some way?
CheckPoint is exclusive to PATV.

Re: The Official CheckPoint Thread
After all this hype you guys decide to throw a curveball that launch the series on Penny Arcade TV? You sneaky bastards XD
It's nice to see ENN back, even more so with a fresh coat of paint on it.
You PS3 is in fact a common house cat, so your personal information should be safe.

Ooh and Graham, to answer your question, you could consider Cave Story as a high-profile third party game.

Re: CheckPoint Episode 1
While I am ecstatic that you guys are doing snarky news again, I'm confused as to why this wasn't right for the Escapist. Is it because they're a daily magazine and to do weekly news wasn't just timely enough with your operating parameters? And that with PA updating mostly 3 times a week, this pace works better for you guys?
Can't wait for the podcast that explains this, if any.

Re: CheckPoint Episode 1
It is awsome that this is happening... but
Was the reason the escapist discontinued the show not that not many people watched it, and is the people who is at penny arcade not the same type as those on the escapist so how will you change the old ENN format to accommodate this?... or are penny arcade happy with the potential it already got? I'm sure we will learn more in the next podcast.
also Jeremys blank made him look lige a murderer somehow...

Re: CheckPoint Episode 1
To clarify - ENN was never UNpopular on the Escapist. It however, wasn't a massive breakout hit, and never seemed to quite resonate with the audience. PATV felt a news commentary show would be a good fit for them. Simple as that.

Re: CheckPoint Episode 1
Two suggestions for the LRR crew:
Change the name if you can. "Check Point" all by itself isn't going to be findable via Google. Maybe "[some other word] Checkpoint," or else some stylized spelling like "Czechpoynte"?
If Kathleen wears a turtleneck in the next episode, that will bring her average shirt neckline back to a sensible level.

Checkpoint is definitely a better name than PANN and this is definitely a wonderful return to the classic ENN format! Loving it and can't wait for more!

Is it just me or does Jer's silhouette look awesome and remind me of Grit from Adavance Wars. Anybody else?

Re: CheckPoint Episode 1
I loved it. You can never complain about more LRR.
ENN was actually one of the ways I got video game news... so I'm glad a similar format is back and I wish it well on PATV. Can't wait for more.

Re: CheckPoint Episode 1
Hooray for the return of classic ENN! The graphics remind me of a cross between Persona 3 PSP (playing as a girl) and Persona 4. Maybe I've just been playing too much of the former.
EDIT: Oh, and is my PS3 safe if it is black with a matte finish, flat on top but has a concave curve along the front with a circle above two usb ports?

it takes something extraordinary to get me off my 3~ years of lurking and finally make a forum account to offer praise.
fine job. this already feels like a substantial step up in quality from ENN.
