GPLP: Venetica
Re: GPLP: Venetica
We're calling it a Let's Play for simplicity sake, and so everyone knows what kind of video it is.
I guess "Let's Fail" might make more sense... but it's more "Let's Play Until We Don't"

I'm not going to lie. After you went all the way through the Gripper cave, fighting all of those giant crabs just to discover that it led you to a room you've already been to, I laughed. Like, a lot. My lungs are actually sore from laughing soo hard.
... is that something I should probably go see a doctor about?

Kicked ass, took name[s]s[/s], and even a phone call!
I definitely feel like subjecting myself to another one of those. Hopefully soon, since I have no self control and have watched the whole thing already
I already posted this in the "Hey, click on the "Videos" tab..." but since that thread is somewhat vaguely named and my post is burried in the middle of it: this new forum section can't be read without logging in atm.

Re: GPLP: Venetica
I like how the game's intro is all paced and dramatic, then you meet death.
Then the game dumps a fucking Acme Anvil of quests and text on you at once.

That should have granted them a new facepalm attack, which is super powerful against anything but those death crabs, which probably took more hits to kill than the boss. Landed hits, anyways. I guess the ridiculous armour (albeit less than usual) makes sense when you consider what the fight tutorial guy told you: Everything has a weak spot, for you it's your entire spine.

Re: GPLP: Venetica
PLEASE MAKE MORE OF THESE!!!
All caps aside, this is really kool, I would love if you guys make more of these, I have always been a big fan of Graham and Paul doing silly stuff and this is no exception.
Btw, I am not sure but this is my first post so I must say: thanks LRR for all that you have done. You have been awesome, are awesome and will be awesome for the rest of time

So I know that it's "Graham and Paul Let's Play", but might we expect to see a guest or two at some point? (Assuming you continue to make them, of course.)
I have changed my name like 3 times on this forum. Guess who I am!

Re: GPLP: Venetica
I definitely enjoyed the first Lets Play, and this one was no different. Good job, and the idea of guests would be a nice way to change it up once in a while.
Every time you guys said ducets, I kept hearing Dukats in my head, so I kept waiting for a Gul Dukat joke.
Obviously videos of this magnitude can't really be a regular occurrence. Any rough idea how often we will be seeing these?

We mention that actually, but to be fair to you, we mention that in the last episode so...
But yes. Guests are a possibility.

Re: GPLP: Venetica
From what I've seen, only one game can beat this in batshit insanity, and you guys have played it every year for charity.
Also, can someone get a screenshot of the Checkpoint when Kathleen freaked out over the spiders in the balloons they had for DNF? Because I have a feeling that same face was made by Graham once the Grippers started charging.

Re: GPLP: Venetica
(I apologize in advance for my spelling and grammer) I personaly loved this in its entirety unscripted you guys are actualy more brilliant then your unskipable. I have to admit im a little late to the form and to your comedy but this and your unskipable lets play (which is a pain to find on the escapist D:<) are my faverate things you guys have done (besides paul installing linux on everything) But one comment about the games you choose thank you for chooseing things i could never ever get the chance to play becasue it keeps me from knowing wtf will happen next and makeing everything else even better. Ugh horrible first post for me might have gotten off topic...

Yay finally we get more let's plays!
Re: GPLP: Venetica
More jRPGs next time, plz
Re: GPLP: Venetica
GPLP XENOGEARS! haha good luck with that one XD would be interesting to see thought O.o But you could not play that on this anyway after all Xenogears is a good game. Try playing Kameo: Elements of power its a 360 game. But wow just looked it up and it supriseingly is rated highly on IGN and gamespot maybe I should have given it more then just a 2 hr long section of my time where the game was horrible hmmm..

Re: GPLP: Venetica
One thing I wished you guys would've done is do the whole uStream delio and interact with the fans live, like you did with your Unskippable Let's Play. But hey, that's just me being bitter at missing out last time.
Great new series, hopefully you guys don't burn out by playing bad games like this one.
I also think that this was a good choice, balancing general, amusing crappiness (annoying Grippers and frustrating boss fight notwithstanding) with an element of choice, thinly veiled as they were. Opens up for some very funny dicking around scenarios.

Re: GPLP: Venetica
Just what we've all been waiting for
I second the uStream motion but I get that it takes ages to set up and there's always technical faults but as long as we keep getting more Let's Plays either way I'm happy

Re: GPLP: Venetica
Running a livestream of it actually adds a huge technical overhead to the project. It makes it "a project" instead of just a video.
The hope is that we'd be able to do these more frequently because we're not held back by scheduling and technology.
Sorry if you enjoyed the Ustream, but that's the tradeoff, and we think that's a good trade.

Finished it. Y'know what I wouldn't mind if you complete the game. Most LP-ers record in batches anyway.
~I'm probably not serious~
Oh and you can just call me Dave.
No need for the whole screen name.

Re: GPLP: Venetica
Lookeing forward to watching this when I'm not on the clocke.
Out of curiosity, Graham and/or Paul, do you guys have a lineup of games you're intent on doing, or are you making this more of a do-it-as-we-finde-it deal?

Thank you for calling tech support, how can I be the outlet of your misplaced frustrations today?
