Re: MTGO LoadingReadyRun Clan
I finally broke down & registered for an MtGO acct. (MtGO username: TStodden -- like you needed to guess) & requesting entry into the clan, when Lord_Hosk (as noted captain) or the person managing the clan gets around to it.
Already added the known runners to my buddy list (Memo, Hosk, Adi_Pie & Omega) as a start & I'll have to look at building some decks (possibly blowing a little more money to build a card catalog) as well as re-reviewing tournament eligibility due to state laws (one that restricts entry-fee tournaments w/ prizes... there's "Free" tournaments, right?)
The only thing I ask is that you go easy on me for a while until I get back into swing of things before murdering me.

Welp, I went ahead and bought MTGO. I'll probably play it more than paper magic? Username is Tinfish. Would love to play you guys sometime! (And probably lose horribly, I'm not actually good at magic)

Re: MTGO LoadingReadyRun Clan
So I've been playing casual constructed in MTGO on and off because I am poor and can't really afford to keep doing actual tournaments. A pity, because I like limited events.
What I don't like is driving out the ever-hopeful pile of scraps I've assembled from drafts and sealed events ... and finding that my opponent has, oh, all the Hornet Queens. Or a lethal mixture of Heroic creatures and Ordeals. Or (in one case) an interesting infinite mana combo between the Temur bounce cat, Disciple of Nylea, and Temur Ascendancy ... with multiple Polukranoses and Genesis Hydras as the payload.
My found-parts clunker of a deck can't keep up with players who are driving a flashy Porsche. The difference in card quality is just inexorably deadly. Is there some way to improve my deck without shelling out for playsets of mythics and rares?
Of course, a not insignificant part of the problem is that I kinda suck at the game; it's a poor craftsman who blames his tools, after all. But I'm beginning to feel rather disenheartened.

Re: MTGO LoadingReadyRun Clan
A couple of solutions:
- I'd focus on drafting online. It's probably the best way to just get better at Magic and eventually build up a collection.
- Perhaps get into Pauper as a Constructed format. It has a pretty diverse metagame, with plenty of tier 1 decks that you can get pretty cheaply.

Re: MTGO LoadingReadyRun Clan
Hey all
I to would love to join the MTGO LRR clan, and reading the previous posts I can understand this is done through sending Lord_Hosk a message.
However I'm very new to MTGO (and it's interface) so a quick question, how do I message people?
Do I have to add them as buddies first?
Cheers!

Re: MTGO LoadingReadyRun Clan
Its rather clunky, you can either add me as a buddy or there is something under one of the drop down menues to start a chat and you can type in my name.
