There are some good cards here, but I'm not really sure there's anything bringing my deck to the next level.

It's a bit of a long shot, and would anyone be up for sponsoring my entry for this round of the league? All the cards I open will, of course, belong to you and be returned upon the end of the round.

Either way, I hope everyone has fun! (And if I may make a request, perhaps people could post their favorite moments from their rounds when reporting results? It makes it a bit more fun to read!)

Whelp that's time folks, I'm currently counting 9 submitted pools so the next person to submit will get in (you know to avoid those pesky byes), after that we go to the pairs of 2 rule in order to join. With that said I'll try to get round 1 pairings up in the next few hours.

scores at end of round 0:

(0-0-0) abanytar
(0-0-0) AdmiralMemo
(0-0-0) Auserker
(0-0-0) DeathNDecay
(0-0-0) Hacofo
(0-0-0) KeiranLC
(0-0-0) Omega Lairon
(0-0-0) Randus2003
(0-0-0) SaloAbraxas

round 1 of 8 pairings:

abanytar vs Omega Lairon
Hacofo vs SaloAbraxas
Randus2003 vs Atifexe
KeiranLC vs DeathNDecay
Auserker vs AdmiralMemo

x = bye or next person to submit a pool

notes:

- Welcome to the OGW season of the LRR Fan Sealed League and good luck to all over the next 8ish weeks.
- Incase it wasn't clear: To those new to the League each round is 1 week long.
- Given there is currently a potential for a bye this season this is how I plan on handling it:
1 - Each player will only get 1 bye at most.
2 - If you know you won't be able to play a given week tell me before postings go up and I'll give you the bye (assuming you haven't already had it).
3 - The bye will be assigned at random among those that have yet to receive it.
4 - If more than 1 player invokes rule 2: I'll ether postpone the week (3+ players) or default to rule 3 among those that will not be able to play and have not already gotten the bye.

EDIT: empty seat has been filled, pairings updated

An individual who wishes to remain anonymous volunteered to sponsor me for this round, so here's what I opened if the slot is still open!

I opened all six BFZ packs at once, and MTGO gave me a tiny little window that didn't work so well for screencapping. Not pictured: Three plains and three islands.

Hey Randus... Can we do the same thing as before and slot people in as pairs? If someone else posts a pool by next week, can they pair up with Duckay?

Absolutely, there are a few others from last season that missed the deadline (and I assume they didn't plan on dropping) see:

DeathNDecay 2-0 KeiranLC

This week Noyan Dar decided to fight against the eldrazi horde (one season later than anticipated -_-) and was able to turn the tide game one and two. Thanks again for the games KeiranLC and may Worth always be kind!

In a fight among the allies of Zendikar, there can be no true winner. But the vampires are happy to feed on the corpses. Good games, friend!

Agreed - good times had by all. There was no getting through that wall of beef though, even with some of my deck's better combos in action, it just wasn't enough. GGs

More like A-Noyan Dar, amirite? :D

He definitely closed the door on any chance I had in those two games. Quite powerful if left unchecked. Also I need to learn to wait to run out my bombs until I can defend them.

Randus2003 2-1 Atifexe

Three great games. At some point, every single one of them seemed to be going my way, at least from my perspective, yet I could only get there in one. At least I went out on my own terms - chumping with Salvage Drone and choosing to draw on an empty library.

fully agree...I luck drew out of both games that I won....my prospective below.

game 1: swung back and forth until Chandra made her 2nd appearance on my side of the table giving me the win.

game 2: was a 1 sided beat down with "Bane of the Scions" wiping me out.

Then there was game 3: We went back and forth for a while me pinging with my nettle drones Atifexe draining for 2 then more a turn (a race I wasn't going to win) culminating with him taped out me at 2 with the top deck of the century in Ulamug to wipe out his kill then his deck the following turn.

Three good games, with some missplays on my side and I might have destroyed keyboard.
Coughing and water just don't mix..
Just glad it wasn't paper magic.

On draws, yes. That opening hand and the first like 4 turns, though...

It's not fair to call these "games." It's fairer to say Memo was betrayed by his deck in a most cowardly fashion. For shame, shuffler. For shame.

DeathNDecay 2-1 hacofo

The blood moon was out, cause both hacofo and I struggled to find the land we needed in game three and one respectively. In game two we were both able to cast, but my creatures proved too much, and I was able to walk away with the victories.

Especially when the games went so well when we played a couple casual matches right afterwards. I mean, I still died in those, but at least it felt fair.

KeiranLC [0 - 2] Omega Lairon

Some fine and hotly contested games there, with bonus points for having the allies vs. eldrazi flavour. There was one minor hiccup with sideboarding, but it didn't sound like a major enough problem to require a do-over.

We also had a "just for fun round" afterwards, once the sideboarding issue was able to be resolved entirely. These games proved even more challenging than the official round, as my opponent's deck seemed to have found a much more brutal edge to it after the edits. Very spicy.

games 1 and 3 were all Chandra....game 2, i'd rather not talk about it :P

but on the plus side as SaloAbraxas put it, he's still 100% in Chandra free games on the night.

Auserker 2-0 Atifexe
First game took me down to 5 min on the clock and I thought I was dead the whole time, was a very tight game full of life drain.
Second game I got a very good draw and was able to close it out with 50 seconds on my clock.
MVP was Dragonmaster Outcast won both games, very glad to have gone into red after round 1.
Very fun round the second game was a bit of a let down after such a great first game.
