If you're going to attempt it again, I'll need two more Mechanical Engineer rolls with the same targets. Failing one of them will mean I'll roll on a "Prototype Quality" table to determine the chance of misfire, while failing both will mean that it's left in a non-functional state when the time comes to leave for the mission.

Tzimisce, I'll send you your character sheet momentarily, and from there we can discuss how to write you in to the game. =)

I want to wait for Kenji's response, assuming he gives one. He might surprise me and see the value in completely immobilizing threats.

Sorry, I thought we were using what I said before. Kenji thinks the good Doctor is being unnecessarily roundabout and urges him to stop wasting his damn time.

Atifexe:

Since I still can't get rolz.org to work on my computer (btw: the techs can't figure it out either) especially since it will work on my ipad.

The only way I'll be able to use rolz is if you make a room for us to use.

However, I have found http://dicelog.com/dice (Hamete virtual dice server) that works very well. Would you have a problem if I used this one for my rolls? This way I can copy and paste my results which will make life easier all around.

Apologies for the delay. I've been having trouble figuring out exactly what a critical success would be for a device of this nature.

Belgarion, whichever site works for you works for me. Rolz was just the best replacement for Invisible Castle that I came across.

theknightofiron, I appreciate your interest! At the moment, with Tzimisce back, we've hit the five player total that I was aiming for. I'll happily add you to a wait list, if you'd like, and if there's an opening later on, I can message you first to see if you're still interested in playing.

So did you actually decide what a critical success meant, or are you still thinking?

Ideas for what critical success could do: I see an easy way to make the pumping/pressurization automatic turning it into a semiautomatic weapon. 1 pump provides 6 charges. It takes virtually no time. I have an epiphany about the next project I want to work on. The pressure is greater, giving me both greater range and greater release of fluid from attacks.

Do those help?

I really appreciate the suggestions! I was leaning towards the extra charges per pump already, so I think that's what we'll go with.

Resin Pump Gun
Range: 10ft
Rate of Fire: Single-shot only; each shot can coat up to half a humanoid target of standard size.
Payload: 40 shots each resin and solvent. Can fire six shots for each action spent pumping; may charge up to eighteen shots worth of pressure.
Effect:
Resin: A thick, goopy substance that is incredibly sticky. Once applied, it hardens within 15 seconds to be as hard as stone, rendering the target functionally immobile. The resin is also non-porous, allowing it to be used as a sealant or impromptu armor coating if applied carefully. When hardened, has a damage capacity of 1d4x10 per square foot.
Solvent: Dissolves the resin substance within 15 seconds, negating its stickiness and completely removing hardened resin without difficulty. If sprayed on exposed organics without resin to react with, it will cause 1d4 points of damage.

With that, I think we're about wrapped up with the preparations for the next stage. We're also at Christmas, and I'm not at home, which means my time to write will be limited at best for at least the next day and a half. I hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season, and I'll see if I can't get a post up by the 27th to kick off the next stage!

Hmm... That's a fair point. Alright, I'll have it up for New Year's Day, then, since as it stands I have no plans on New Year's Eve. =P

New Year's Day works fine for me too. I still have my birthday to celebrate before then and I will probably need a day or so to recover lol.

I'll be happy whenever it's up, so long as it's soon!

Shall we just skip forward to the bit where we're approaching the office from the back?

Robert is used to being deferred to, and is not appreciating this lack of consideration from his companions, in case that wasn't clear. :P
