Heroes Unlimited Gameplay Thread

From behind the robot, "Well I don't exactly know WHEN its going to explode, and I don't know about you, but I would rather not have shrapnel fly into my back."

Just a reminder, it's a power source of unknown intensity and composition. It's reasonable to assume that if it's going to explode, it will be a large explosion.

Re: Heroes Unlimited Gameplay Thread
"And you assume a plaster-encased robot and an angry Scotsman are going to provide sufficient cover?" Kenji quirked an eyebrow as he smoked. He gave a shrug and turned toward the building. "Regardless, we have little time. What little I saw of the building seems to indicate that it is under construction or remodeling. However, I would imagine the robot would not make a run for the door if there was no help to be found inside."
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

At this point, Dougie makes a decision for the party at large. As the resin hardens and his blows become useless, it appears that Dougie's murderous rage is not yet spent- without seemingly changing stance from pummel-mode, he springs forwards through the door of the building and beats the shit out of the first animate object he can see.

"Well then," Robert Says deadpan to Kenji, "After you?"

(OOC: I would assume they wouldn't put power sources in their grunt robots that are capable of causing significantly more destruction be detonating if heavily damages, most likely also harming near by not as damaged robots, leading to a cascade where their whole robot army goes up in flames)

Re: Heroes Unlimited Gameplay Thread
So just to clarify, since from Ix's post I'm not sure I made it clear the first time, the door the robot went through was around the front of the building. The fire door at the back isn't accessible from the outside.

Then I'm busting straight through it. What do I need to roll?

You charge in the front, and... Nothing. A dull buzz from the fluorescent lights on the ceiling. To your left are translucent plastic sheets hanging from the ceiling. To your right, a wall with two doors. You can see clear down a hallway leading to the rear fire door; there's nothing and no one visible.

Re: Heroes Unlimited Gameplay Thread
(I actually meant I was going through the fire door, but hey-ho, we'll run with this)
Breathing heavily, Dougie seems to slowly return to some vague semblance of sanity. A loud cry of "...the fook are the bastads?" echoes outside to his waiting compatriots.

"Perhaps you can kill the English some other time, Dougie," Kenji said coolly, following Dougie through the door and casually buttoning his jacket again. "All that matters is that we get what we came for and leave."
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

Re: Heroes Unlimited Gameplay Thread
What is Robert doing in response to Dougie and Kenji entering the station?
While we're waiting for that information, you two feel free to continue - Robert can catch up when the opportunity allows.

Re: Heroes Unlimited Gameplay Thread
Robert was following Kenji in. I thought that was implied. Sorry.

Dougie stands in the room growling at nothing in paticular. After a short while, he grunts "Reet. Les' just get wut we came for and bugger off oota' here."
He pauses briefly

Robert begins cracking his knuckles as he says "Data recovery. We're here to find out where they expect the ritual site to be, or at least where they chose to look for it. Might be able to pick up some more information along the way!"
Looking around, "Try to find a terminal I can work from..."
After a moments pause a sudden jolt shakes Rober, "Also! Possibly more importantly at the moment, remember to be on your guard. We were expecting two humans in here, and either they were out to lunch, are still here somewhere, or our intel was bad. I don't know about you, but I would assume the middle option, myself."
Robert begins pumping up the resin shooter as he searches.

From behind the plastic, you hear the sound of metal striking metal, followed immediately by cursing that is cut short by a sharp, brief "Shh!". No movement is visible, but it's obvious there are people there.

Kenji sighed and took a last, rueful puff of his cigarette. Then he flicked the butt to the dusty concrete floor and ground it out with his heel. He drew one of his pistols and pointed it at the plastic. "Ladies, gentlemen, people of any and all gender identities, we have two options. Option one: you come out with your hands in the air and nobody gets hurt. Option two: I start firing indiscriminately until the yelping stops."
He clicked back the hammer on his gun and waited for them to respond.

After a pause, Kenji gets his answer in the form of a hail of gunfire.
This time, you guys are on the receiving end of what can only loosely be called a surprise attack. Please roll initiative; your assailants automatically go first for the first round.

Kenji rolled a 9 for Initiative.

Dougie also a 9.

Re: Heroes Unlimited Gameplay Thread
Well, its not a 9. But it is an 8.

Re: Heroes Unlimited Gameplay Thread
The bullets being sprayed at the group are being fired blind, but due to volume are still quite dangerous. With no cover to hide behind in the building, there aren't many options for places to go. Before anyone can react, both Kenji and Robert take hits.

(Double posting because my phone hates editing, apparently)
Robert's wound is the worse of the two by a slight margin, but neither is particularly severe.
At the moment, only an educated guess as to the source of the gunfire is possible. If you wish to take cover, the only guaranteed option is to head back out the front door. Other than that, you could try the two doors along the right hand wall.
Kenji goes first, then Dougie and finally Robert.
