How about these for aspirations?

1. Gain an animal companion to help me hunt.

2. Learn to live off the land

3. Become an effective Doctor

Probably not the best choice I could make but since I'm not really familiar with the setting I'm not really sure what I'm doing. lol

Okay, well, without wishing to spoil anything, basically you're on a road trip and will encounter all the creepy corners of America's highways and byways. You'll encounter all manner of monsters and general creepiness.

The first one seems a-okay to me, and already gives me story ideas. That's what we want out of an Aspiration. :) The other two might need a little work. For one, you need another short-term goal, and learning to live off the land is a pretty big undertaking. Second, I don't see how you can become a doctor on a road trip to LRRcon...unless you mean less by formal education and more by in-the-field experience? We could work with that. If that's what you mean, then might I recommend "save a life with medicine?"

Ok, we can change the 3rd to save a life with medicine, or the medical knowledge that I have to date.

AS for living off the land I was kind of thinking that we won't always have the chance or the money to visit the local super markets for food and other stuff, but that might come as we progress in the game. So how about Becoming adept at Martial Arts or hand to hand fighting as my long term goal? (I kinda get the feeling i'm gonna need it ;) )

Or perhaps some sort of melee weapon like a longsword?

Well, keep your character concept in mind. What sorts of Aspirations fit for a street-punk-turned-med-student? That's really the only thing you need to consider.

Well when you put it that way then I suppose I would want to gain enough wealth to live a very comfortable life, not having to worry about things like where my next meal is coming from etc.

I'm not sure if this is any good either, and if not perhaps you could make a few suggestions.

Well...as far as I know, leaving the criminal life behind can be difficult. Even if he's attending med school, he might still have old obligations, old loyalties, to his former crew. If you'd be so kind as to allow me to take a few liberties with the exact details of your character's past, then we could do "Get out of the Life" as an effective long-term aspiration.

I'm just here to facilitate the game. It's what I do.

Next, you need three Skill Specialties. These are specific labels on a given skill that give you a bonus on tasks within that label. For example, a surgeon might have a Surgery specialty for his Medicine skill. A detective might have a Crime Scenes specialty for his Investigate skill.

So pick three fields for your character to specialize in. They must be attached to skills in which you already have a dot.

That's an easy one, add specialty to:

Medicine
Science
Investigation (related to medicine, diagnosing etc)

You need to list what that specialty is. Diagnosing is fine for Investigation, but what about the other two?

This is by no means a comprehensive list, but example Medicine specialties include: Emergency Care, First Aid, Pathology, Pharmaceuticals, Surgery, etc.

Example Science specialties include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Metallurgy, etc.

Sounds good. I like to note them right next to the skill in question so I don't forget about them.

Next are your Merits. In the second edition you get ten Merit points, not simply seven. In addition, you need to pick them from the list contained within this book.

Lots of the Merits are the same, so the ones you have shouldn't be too much trouble. But there are some new Merits and updated descriptions, so feel free to rearrange once you see the new list.

I like the merits I had so far. Let's just add:

Holistic Awareness (1)
Encyclopedic Knowledge: Streetwise (2) (if possible)

if not allowed then make it of The Occult.

Nope, Streetwise is fine. As the description says, it doesn't matter if you have no dots in that skill. :) Alright, your Merits are all set.

Next is the "supernatural template." That's just game jargon for adding the series of traits that make your character a supernatural entity. In the case of Hunter games, you get a Profession. A Profession gives you two free skill Specialties and access to the Professional Training Merit.

Would you say your character has left his criminal past behind and wants to devote himself to medicine (in which case he'd be a Doctor) or is he still attached to the criminal life in some way (which would make him a Criminal)?

Let's go with Doctor

Professional Training: Medicine

I am guessing the skill specialties are basically the same as before?

So:

Medicine: Pharmaceuticals
Science: Chemistry

or is it extra expertise in something I already specialize in?

If yes then:

Emergency Care and Biology.

No, you get free specialties in two specific skills: Medicine and Empathy. Pharmaceuticals is fine for Medicine, though.

And when I say access to the Professional Training merit, I mean the ability to purchase dots in it with experience. If you want to go back and change your Merits to include Professional Training, that's fine.

Ok then lets cheange Meditative to Professional Training: Medicine with 1 dot

I'll keep the pharmaceuticals thing but Empathy specialty I can't seem to come up with something..unless I can use a special empathy towards animals?

Empathy with animals is an entirely different skill: Animal Ken. Also, Professional Training applies to your Profession, not any particular skill.

A few suggestions for Empathy: Bedside Manner, Sympathy, Emotion, Personality.

One dot in Professional Training: Doctor gets you Networking: you're considered to have the Contacts Merit equal to your Professional training dots in your field. Your first contact is a well-respected trauma surgeon who taught your Anatomy and Physiology class in your first year of med school.

Ok got it.

For Empathy lets go with bedside manner.

Also will i be able to add dots to merits and other places as the game progresses? Just wondering

Yeah, you can buy pretty much anything on your sheet with Experiences.

In WoD, the unit of drama is called the Beat. You earn Beats in a number of ways: resolving an Aspiration or Condition, taking a dramatic failure on a roll, at the end of every story, and so on. I also award Beats arbitrarily for good roleplaying, quick thinking, and anything that just entertains me. Five Beats make one Experience, which you can then spend on various things:

Merits: 1 Experience per dot
Skills: 2 Experiences per dot
Attributes: 4 Experiences per dot
Willpower: 3 Experiences per dot
Integrity: 2 Experiences per dot

Next we need to calculate all your various derived statistics. You said you already did some of them? Do you have your Health, Speed, Willpower, Defense, Initiative, and Integrity?

Health (Stamina +Size) = 8
Speed Str + Dex) = 9
Willpower = 5
Defense = 3
Initiative = 5
Integrity = 7 (starting)

Also now that I have had the chance to read more about vitures and vices can I change my virtue to Trustworthy and my vice to Apathy towards criminals?

I'd recommend Apathy just in general, because your Virtue and Vice is the best way to regain Willpower. You don't want to restrict yourself in that regard.

Well, do you know everything about what Willpower does? If so, we can move on to your breaking points, which is something of an "exit interview" so that we both can learn more about your character.
