Try again -LRR fan D&D e-group -need no previous experience!

Postby jadamelio » 18 May 2015, 15:17

It didn't come together last time, but summer is coming up(I'm a student so that means something, for working people idk) and I'm ready to try this again. Is anyone interested in starting a campaign? I was thinking the Pathfinder rules system(I'm familiar so I can DM) or free form and loose so new people can get on with no huge issue.

We are considering 4e and G.Homebrew as well!

If anyone is interested or has questions, please ask!

Edit: We seem to have some genuine interest, so I'm gonna start the scheduling process, feel free to join, even with no experience!

Here is the spreadsheet(Times are UTC - 8):
In addition there is a second sheet for Q&A I will be super prompt with answers!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10GTxrtOgBGqnjlzWl3CYHuhMHSWiVlSXw9vwz4qpkZE/edit?usp=docslist_api
Please fill in the squares you are available for with your name, and also the little info paquet at the bottom

Also you may ask questions on the Q&A page or email me at [email protected]

There are some guides and hints to rules on the Introduction page

If we can acquire PDFs for everyone I can endeavor to learn 5th, but lets not force people to buy books.

Great that your interested, ask about the forum friends, spread the word.

I'm in. Been playing since 3rd. (Technically since the tail end of 2nd, but I was really young at the time.) Depending on level, Pathfinder would be my immediate preference, although I'm still a fan of 4th Ed if you limit the materials available to players.

Also, I'd be willing to run a group of Changeling: The Lost (World of Darkness) if no one wants to GM D&D.

I'm intending to DM with pathfinder, but if it works out that you want to or we want to use Changeling, then thats great.

I'm looking for 4-6 people for a regular group, or a larger group where we make a drop in or out system.

Yeah scheduling is always the hard part, I'm UTC - 8 and for now I can see myself DMing anytime 10am- 2am, preferably on weekends.

I think your spreadsheet link is broken, but I'm UTC -5 and am good pretty much any evening other than Wednesday.

Hi, already filled out the spreadsheet although I might be hard to reach due to time differences. I'm in Portugal and it's +1 UTC.

I filled in the spreadsheet too. I've got no previous experience at playing D&D but I'll look into the rules of how to play pathfinder.
I'm in the UK so its +1 UTC for the summer. Looks like some late nights.

I may be interested in this. I've never played D&D before but I've watched it played a lot online and I've been interested in starting.

I assume we need a microphone for this (and possibly a webcam)? I was planning on getting a mic soon anyway.

I'll fill out my times on the sheet. :)

A mic is required for voice chats, but camera isn't mandatory :)

Idk if this is too soon, but for the Friday/Saturday 4-8pm block, I was thinking of doing a group intro event, as many people can come, you just need pen and paper,(d6, d20 are great but not required) You won't need a mic, most communication will be in chat, save me, you'll hear my lovely voice.

It would be basic character creation, stats, story etc. A little talk about my DM philosophy and then break into some play. Anyone into it?

If the mic won't be necessary, then I can start this weekend. I'm available this Friday until about 6:30 or so, and any time this Saturday.

Sorry if I missed this somewhere but were we going to do this on a site like roll20 or just on skype/hangouts or something? Having a program with dice and stuff like that might be useful but I'm happy to do it however the DM prefers. ^_^

I've added my details to the sheet, but I'm currently busy during the day (UK time) this Saturday, but feel free to go ahead with out me as I'm adding my stuff late. The times I've put on the sheet are for normal weeks, so it says I can do Saturday.
From what I've seen of http://roll20.net/ it looks very impressive. Rolls, turn order etc and voice/video chat all from the same page.

Firstly if we do this thing(Saturday) missing it won't be a big deal, I was just going to be get to know you, your DM your game etc with some light play, no pressure.

2nd: The red group will use roll20 for sure, we are not sure if we are putting them in G.brew or PF yet.

Yellow will move towards roll20 after an intro session

Green, we will figure it out, whatever is most comfortable
