Exclusive Fate Reforged Spoiler Card
Exclusive Fate Reforged Spoiler Card
Our exclusive spoiler card for the upcoming expansion Fate Reforged! Now if we could just figure out what this means...
Re: Exclusive Fate Reforged Spoiler Card
I like the theory discussion that Vial of Dragonsfire is the alternative item caused by the change in the timeline. In Draft formats, you draft Fate/Khans or Fate/Dragons, this card will find the item from the Khans or Dragon timeline.
I'm not insane. I just have an overly vivid imagination!

That would be a really interesting idea, have you get to decide if you open Khans or Dragons for the two non-Fate sets, but you're going to have a heck of a time trying to figure out the strategy when you don't even know what set you're going to be passed.
Can anyone remember a time when a card referenced a card in some way mechanically (as opposed to flavor) that did not exist yet? I can't remember ever seeing this before, but then I have about a ten year chunk out of the middle of Magic's history where I did not play.

Re: Exclusive Fate Reforged Spoiler Card
Also, while some mechanics from Future Sight have surfaced in further sets, some haven't been seen in regular sets yet.
Aura Swap
Gravestorm
Fortify
Transfigure
Frenzy
Absorb
Fateseal
Assemble
Also, I really want to see fixing land cycles that include:
Grove of the Burnwillows
Nimbus Maze
River of Tears
(Presumably, separate cycles.)
Finally, after going through Future Sight, I'm disappointed that Logic Knot didn't show up in either KTK or FTR, due to the final resurfacing of the Delve mechanic, but there's still hope for DTK.

Re: Exclusive Fate Reforged Spoiler Card
The problem with a Grove of the Burnwillows cycle is that the lands in the control colours (W/U & U/B) would be soo much better than the rest of the cycle.
Because for an agro or midrange deck giving your opponent 5-10 life over a game very relevant, for a control deck it does not matter because when they win they have locked the game down and it does not matter if the opponent has 20 or 30 life it is just a matter of time.

Very true. I didn't think of that. But a Nimbus Maze cycle seems quite doable. A River of Tears cycle would be... pretty weird, honestly, but I don't see any problem with it.

The River of Tears cycle has 2 things that makes it so that i don't think that they will make the cycle
1. it is a 10 land cycle as you would need besides River of Tears the land that adds B but if you played a land add U.
2. I think the score keeping where you have to be sure have i played a land or not is more hassle than it's worth.
But I believe Mark Rosewater did a podcast on the Future Sight mechanics and the likelihood of them returning
