Re: Twitch Sub Emote Suggestions
I've been thinking about emotes that would express positive sentiments.
The most common reaction to victory, across all streams, is the phrase "Got there!" so what might lrrGOTTHERE look like?
The CheckPoint logo (arrow pointing into a starburst)?
G or P from GPLP?
A billowing Canadian flag?

Yeah, a positive emote would be good.
And, of course, Awesome Muffin.

Re: Twitch Sub Emote Suggestions
Hm, what would be a good positive one? I'm not sure you can represent "Got There" in a clever way on a 32x32 sprite.
Well... more like I don't know what "Got There" would look like

I like the idea of using the Checkpoint arrow, but it could be a touch abstract to work 100%. A stickman crossing a finish line maybe?

Ooh! QWOP man crossing the finish line. (Has anyone actually seen that happen?)

Re: Twitch Sub Emote Suggestions
I can see making that being a problem unless you make it large size and then scale it down to 32x32, might give that one a shot.
EDIT: Yeah it's not a problem, you can actually do a lot with 32x32. Give me 30 minutes or something and I'll have something.

Could use the Desert Bus Bug Splat for reaching a milestone / got there!
Re: Twitch Sub Emote Suggestions
Okay, this is what I got
Version with background:
And version without:
Keep in mind that they're abit bigger in the twitch chat
Personally, not so sure on this one, 32x32 just might be too small for it, even if they're bigger in chat.

Re: Twitch Sub Emote Suggestions
I think the one without the background comes across better. It looks really good, but the one thing that stands out to me is that the clothing is pretty similar in colour to both the ribbon and the skin (though those two are sufficiently different from each another), so it makes it all kind of mix together when you don't look closely. Even though it wouldn't be accurate to QWOP, it would probably look better if his clothes were yellow or another bright colour that contrasted with the red.
Re: Twitch Sub Emote Suggestions
Well here's the backgroundless version in blue: It is LRR's colour after all
EDIT: The look of it really does not come across on the forum and sadly the imgur link doesn't do it justice either. I'd recommend right-click downloading and looking at it in your image viewing/editing software of choice
EDIT2: Also to note, A quick test in the twitch chat seems to put emote size to about 50% bigger than the source image, maybe even double, its hard to tell. But it certainly is bigger than source.

Hmmm I prefer the version with the background, it helps the reader understand what it means. without that a newcomer probably wouldn't get it.
Also I think a Got There is a good Emote Idea. lots of games have those kinds of moments. Like if Kathleen barely manages to beat a boss in a JRPG.
So I think it has universal application, which is the main thing a new emote needs.

Re: Twitch Sub Emote Suggestions
The background gives context, but it makes the emote busier. That's the main reason I suggested the CheckPoint arrow; it's a bit on the nose, but it's graphically simple and it plays at lower pixel counts. QWOP is a great idea, but it takes some doing to make it translate when super small.

Re: Twitch Sub Emote Suggestions
I'm not one for making pictures but I think a good lrrGOTTHERE would just be the words "got There" with a triumphant looking face. Or maybe just the words as I hear they opened up the text based emotes now.

Re: Twitch Sub Emote Suggestions
If you want to do lrrGOTTHERE I'd go with with graham in a super hero success pose. Fists on hips head turned and head tilted head up. Just my opinion

Re: Twitch Sub Emote Suggestions
...interesting...I prefer the 'texted' version...maybe put a white outline around the black text, tho, to ensure clarity against all backgrounds?
Re: Twitch Sub Emote Suggestions
The problem with that, though, is that I don't have very many pixels to work with.
