Good to finally have the minority languages represented on QWRP. And of course, wonderful to know that Derek is exactly where he belongs. Though he should really get an exorcist.

I'm enjoying the revolving door of sports reporters. I can't wait to see who is next.

I'm very impressed with Beej for getting so much comic mileage out of "It works!"

Sometimes it's the really brief jokes that bring down the house, and I think this was one of those times.

Who was Michael O'Leary supposed to be a play on? It sounds so familiar.

I managed to get through this one without breaking for about 6 minutes. But then this happened:
Richter wrote:Esperanto has been the language of the future for the past 129 years

And I lost it :(

One day I will make it to the end of one of these... my perseverance can outlast your collective comedic genius, right? :D

He's very 'Emo Philips does Sports'. Emo played the clumsy shop teacher in Weird Al's UHF, for one - that's where I'm familiar with him - and that kind of voice and delivery is his stand-up schtick.

I felt like posting an idea here about a character based around Ian's scottish accent he used today on rhythm Tuesday. Either some kind of Nsburg's First Tourist, or the better idea of the Foreign Exchange Secret BagPipesman.

Baby Cakes. A Brad Neely character.

I hope everything's going OK. I'd be very very sad if Qwerpline were to go the way of the Magnum Rewatch Podcast.

Qwerpline is, at worst, a few days late. There's no need for concern.

Remember too that both Graham and Kathleen are involved in QWERPline and also parents to a four month old. Things might be delayed occasionally because of babby and this is ok.

So, something I just noticed from this episode, in an earlier Episode A-train said he used to play second turnstile for the literal tigers, but in this episode it says they haven't had a person playing that position since 1973.
Alex's character is old? Or just a retcon?

My headcanon: The "Curse of 73" refers not to the year 1973, but to an incident in 2002 where then-Second Turnstile for the Literal Tigers, Sebastian Hall, was struck with a Therpston County record 73 sideballs over the course of a single game, requiring a weeks-long hospital stay and facial reconstructive surgery. After the event, the coaches consulted with the team's Assistant Oracle, who foretold of a curse that had been placed on the Literal Tigers, and any person who played Second Turnstile would suffer the same fate.

Since sideball by-laws declare it both illegal and immoral to simply omit the Second Turnstile position, Literal Tigers coaches have been forced to come up with a workaround, some of which having worked better than others.
