I love that not only do you know that, JackSlack, but you have a handy picture available to prove it.

Re: Me Again
Coincidence, sadly. It's just the Escapist thumbnail for the episode. But handy!

Re: Me Again
Great episode, but...am I the only one who expected someone to be Rod Serling in the stinger?

I also thought this was a Paul script. I really enjoyed this one. You can't put one past Paul!
Eventually we will get to see every cast member from the future.

Re: Me Again
So per Graham's commentary on the blog, Brian is John's twin brother and I'm the idiot here Not sure why I thought it was more likely they somehow found a way to find someone who looked like John or make someone look like John, rather than John forgetting he had a twin brother, since we already know he suffered some memory loss.
It might be more cliché, but I think I would have found it funnier if it was future John just playing a prank. It's good that it was lampshaded though, and I guess it's a good thing to be going for less obvious endings.

Re: Me Again
Great episode.
Just a small fact problem.
People can only become a saint after they have been dead for quite some time.
So really, he could only have become a saint if he had strapped himself to the missile, and that made enough of a difference to alter the outcome.

... what weird universe do you live in where living people can't become saints and Hawaiian shirts aren't 'in'?

I think you're underestimating the miraculousness of His Awesomeness Hon. Sir Dr. St. Fallon's contribution to humanity. The miraculousity was sufficiently high that the Pope deemed it necessary to declare pre-mortem canonisation a possibility, and rushed the process through.

Actually, I think it was the Super-Pope.
Great one, guys.
Another vid that makes you think, "If you want LRR to produce a sketch from your script, WRITE IT FOR ONE PERSON."

Re: Me Again
So, in the podcast for this video, Graham was talking about not remembering which video originally had a Brazil style ending. I'm almost positive that that video was Installation Anxiety.

Re: Me Again
I think I remember hearing that, too.
Re: Me Again
Really? Wow. What would that have even been?!
Time to go searching for scripts.

LRRCast for Installation Anxiety wrote:GRAHAM: I wrote the first part of this video based entirely on... I think I was falling asleep one night, and trying to think of a video idea, and it was seriously like "I wonder what would happen if Paul went insane and started installing Linux on everything". And then, this happened. It originally had a much different ending, a much sort of darker, stranger ending.
PAUL: Yeah.
BILL: I kinda liked it.
PAUL: Has anybody seen Brazil?
GRAHAM: Yeah, I liked it too, but it was sort of like the ending of Brazil.
MORGAN: Weird?
GRAHAM: Oh, really really really weird.
JAMES: Which is 37 on that list of best endings.
GRAHAM: Really?
MATT: 37? Try not to film any Brazils on your way across the parking lot.
PAUL: Why don't you run down the actual... what the original ending was.
GRAHAM: Well, the original ending was, instead of Paul installing it on me, I say "you can't install it on a human", like I do, and then he says "No, nonsense, scientists have been trying to do it for years, but now I know I can do it!" and he plugs it into himself and starts installing it, and starts going off-kilter and, like, really really snaps. And then Morgan and I, who through the whole video have been like "Paul, what the hell? Jesus, Paul, stop" were completely removed from it now, and we're standing in the living room watching it and being "Oh... we've lost him". Oh, nonononono, it's like "Oh, he's rejecting it" or something. And then it zooms in on Paul's face, and then pulls out slowly and he's sitting in a chair in a grey room, and Morgan and I are there in lab coats, and we sort of look at him and sigh, and "we've lost him" and shake our head, and go back to our computers and the camera just pulls out slowly and Paul's dead in this chair.
{Everybody laughs.}
JAMES: What the fuck.
GRAHAM: Yeah.
BILL: I liked it.
JAMES: Messed up.
MORGAN: That's awesome.
MATT: That would've been an awesome ending.
GRAHAM: So what it is is we were trying to install Linux on him, and that was all just a fever dream he was having.
PAUL: So...
GRAHAM: I cannot tell you why I wrote that. I have no idea why.
MORGAN: It's rad.
MATT: I don't understand why you didn't use it!

That's awesome! Thanks so much.
Sorry, Past Matt, I can understand why we didn't use it. Man, that's grim.

Re: Me Again
I didn't like the ending to Brazil - I know it was appropriate to the movie and there was no other way it really could have ended - but it was a bit too dark for my liking.
