St. Ricktopher go watch Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister, then tell me that government is about helping people.

I do quite enjoy those shows. I did a lot of political studies at uni, so I think I have a fairly good grasp of the role of government.

I admit that government can often make life more difficult, but in my position at least, the aim is to help people. That is not to say that every part of the government has that aim so much in mind.

My original comment was to point out that at least with the Government call centres you dont have the obstacle of profit-making to get in the way of customer service.

Maybe, but you have the added obstacle of it being a government call-centre.

I think working at that call center would be awesome.

I would like to believe that every company played this kind of hot potato with its customers. As long as everyone understood that it was a way of life, nobody would be distressed by such a thing. We'll wake up one day where the customer service is playing hot potato to get the customer to hang up and the customers are playing hot potato to get the customer service rep to hang up. And all the while useful information will be flying happily through the telephone lines.

And thus, the accumulated drama and double-crossery caused LRR to evolve into LRRrose Place. (Maybe LRRgrasi High for you Canadians?)
I tend to be overly apologetic. Sorry about that.

That wasn't comedy, that was too real!

(Especially having worked on both sides of that call at one point or another in my life  )

Pretty good video. It did actually bring back some bad memories of screaming at a certain airline's voice automated system that was not understanding me at all.

The Blu Ray! At the End! Graham IS a Sixteen Candle man! And if you said so in the podcast, I haven't listened yet. So I still win.

I was watching the Season 5 DVD and just noticed the Blu Ray of Sixteen Candles. I laughed.
