Great video. I'm not sure when this was filmed, but it seems rather hot on the heels of the Mornington Crescent thread over in the games and gaming forum.

Also, highly reminiscent of the following episode from Black Books, right down to Mrs. Bun the Baker's Wife: linky (Mrs. Bun at 3:45)

Graham, we need to watch Poker together so I can enlighten you on some of the terminology. Heh.

This video was even sillier than the script. The one that was sent to me by snail-mail, since that is the only way I would be able to see it pre-emptively... O_O

Speaking of... we are going to get a copy of the script "for the wiki", right?

More like, I just want a copy of some of the more ridiculous dialog.

1. The Frontier is closed... imploded... gone. I miss it.

2. I like poker too much to like this video. I appreciate the effort that went into it, but I couldn't enjoy it. Sorry.

I loved it! That video was definitely a "belly buster" draw.

Double Indemnity

Also, on the tilty-camera gray-scale bits, the crew tilted the camera too far every time and non-white parts beyond the green-screen showed up as dark colors. Sloppy. *winks*

... Wow.

I usually dislike poker parodies and thus rolled my eyes a bit when I saw the preview, but damn if this wasn't so brilliant that I had to finally get with it and make an account so I could tell you how brilliant it was. Every time I thought to myself "Okay, this can't possibly get more ridiculous," (which was quite a few times) it got more ridiculous. And I laughed even harder.

Simply put, fantastic work.

Also, props for mentioning some of the other Elder Dragon Legends. Nicol Bolas gets all the press...

Did anyone else notice "...*verbiage* Champion 2008"? I'm guessing this was filmed last month, or maybe someone needs some fact checking...?

I, like many others, completely lost it when the Elder Dragon popped up out of nowhere. Although clearly you guys aren't up to the time,s as current Magic the Gathering Errata would make it a "Legendary Creature- Elder Dragon" and the current Viking Wildcard Chariman's Stable actually banned the card in Type X tournaments.

Being a both a casual fan of Texas Hold 'em poker and a big fan of LRR, this video was simply awesome.

I haven't laughed this hard at LRR since "Son of a Bitch!"

Morgan and Graham's flawless delivery with no hint of ironic self-awareness really clinched it for me. And and the word choices containing vaguely naughty-sounding words mixed in with sheer nonsense had me laughing out loud more than I typically do on the webmotrons.

Awesome job guys!

I enjoy watching and playing Texas Hold 'em and though I *don't* think they're making up half they're saying, I don't take the game seriously enough not to laugh at it sometimes.

This video wouldn't have worked at all if it didn't go as bats**t insane as it did. Was there any discussion along those lines when the script was read? Just being "silly" would've made a bland poker parody, but dumping a rubber chicken on the table finishing it with an Uno card makes it awesome.

There was a small part of me that wanted the dealer to award a ball kick to Elway at some point during the hand, but I understand that would've ruined the parody.

Will we be getting a script? I could (and would, if necessary) transcribe it, but that would take hours. I *love* designing games and so coming up with a rule set that would make this video have some sort of twisted logic would keep me busy for weeks. There *will* be a no-limit Viking Secret Wildcard Poker tournament at the next (first?) LRRcon if I have anything to say about it.

Hmm. Not only would we need to determine a rule set for this monstrosity of a card game, but we'd also have to figure out what all the other cards in the deck are and how they apply.

Somehow I think the most important rule in the game would be "If at any time you make a play that allows the game to not be completely inexplicable to random passers-by, YOU LOSE."

I loved this video, but you totally dropped the ball and forgot one extremely improtant element...

Each players win Percentage.

I would have loved to have seen it go up and down with each new card... Or just keep cycling.

Oh, and expect a T-Shirt design for this one soon.

Out of curiosity, Mrs. bun the Baker's wife is from... Old Maid?

It's one of those really old school kid's card games, that's all I can figure.
