In this particular instance, I can at least attempt to, because it's important to get this up earlier than later, and because iknow that a great many of our users DO know what digg is.

I'll talk about the video first. "Oh, that would be Jeff!" Very amusing (the joke is expected, but executed perfectly). I do feel obligated to ask who watches Jeff. Also, what was the motivation behind Matt without his glasses? How often has that happened on camera?

Now the t-shirt ad. Wow. I disagree that I'd expect Morgan to be involved. He's much more crass and would be pelvic thrusting. Clearly, only James could be so sensitive as to be running hair through his fingers and licking Matt's ear.

Might be worth editing the Digg link into Paul's post and spreading it on Twitter. I'd tweet it myself, but I don't want to break character on the TwitFic I'm doing. :P

I'm so glad there actually was someone watching Jeff.

I feel sorry for you Matt in the advert. You always seem to take one for the cruel mistress of comedy.

I think that's James popping out at the end.

I imagine that this is a reimagining of the Watchmen where they were never outlawed, because the opponents never had a catchy slogan.
I'm glad that there's some accountability in the system.

Agreed, hilarious. The video did a nice job of building up, but it could have used a scene of somewhere dressed as Silk Spectre (its only a yellow dress) being stared at through a window by, I don't know, Morgan. Then she gets offended, she closes curtains, then we see Matt watching Morgan, Bill watching Matt, ? watcheing Bill, then someone dressed as Rorschach (bar the coat even I can make a Rorschach costume) watching ?.

For some reason, recent non-commodoreHUSTLE LRR videos have been falling flat for me. What I'm trying to say is that this video felt like it needed more. Particularly the first half felt like it was relying on subtle Watchmen jokes too much. I got them 'cause I've read the comic, but still. Hm.

EDIT: oh, I dugg it for the record.

Just pipped you there.

Forgot to say perviously, Matt I know how bad that was for you. I had a drunk man hug me then kiss my ear while I was stewarding at a recent football match. I feel your pain.

You have more issues than that.

I don't see your credit. :wink:

Personally I think the ultimate answer is that Manhattan, being omnipotent if not nearly so, watches those who watch the watchers of the watchers of the watchmen.

I enjoyed the ad and the video both. I don't really have anything else to say about the ad.

The video: The joke may have been obvious, but you guys did it well, and acknowledged its cheapness in the description, so good on you there. The in-jokes were quite nice. I, too, am wondering who it was that was watching Bill's character at the end. Even full screen, I can't make out the face. Perhaps the point?

Another question: Why does Steve Ackerman sound so familiar? I can't place it, and Google turns up too many random results for me to actively search. Anybody?

Alright, I have neither read the Watchmen nor seen the movie (yet) but I definitely enjoyed the video. The execution was perfect, and the whole thing came across really well.

I did re-watch this for the T-shirt ad. James' nonchalance is hilarious, but I think the expression on Matt's face at the end is the best part.

For someone who hasn't seen the movie yet, I expected this video to be very confusing. But I am glad it wasn't because it really skimmed the description of the movie. Everything I know about this movie was just from people just telling me about it, which is enough info to enjoy this video. Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if there was such a organization like this. Last points I can think is the dialog was funny, good setting, and I think this is the first time I've seen Morgan in a turtle neck. Oh and dugg as well.

PS: that ad was hawt

The T-shirt ad was possibly my favorite part, but an unidentified person poking his head out at Bill was great, too.

I frame-by-frame'd the t-shirt ad to get the full Matt freakout effect. Definitely the best tshirt ad since the decapitation one.

void watch(int watchman) {
int watcher = new_watcher();
setXwatchY(watcher, watchman);
watch(watcher);
}

Maybe you could edit it a little to start with a large number and decrease over time. Then we'll claim it's collective heights of the groups being watched. The 5 (?) Watchmen are taller than 4 watchers of the Watchmen are taller than 2 watchers of the watchers of the Watchmen are taller than Jeff is taller than almost anyone.

Carl could have saved The Comedian's life and none of this mayhem would have happened. Ergo, Rorschach would still be alive.

Think about it.

EDIT: Sorry Matt :(

I JUST got the joke about Ozymandias offering to deliver the flowers to the Comedian, and now the video is that much funnier for me. I also feel that much stupider for not getting it the first time.
