(but frankly, I like yours better!)

I have never ever seen I Love Lucy, so I claim innocence.

I didn't know that was possible...

Anyway, I really liked this one.

Staving off polio. Also lusting after Diana Rigg.

The polio is less of an issue now.

After rewatching the video again, I really have got me a new vid on my favourites list. This one is awesome.

Also, the offer to translate anything to dutch for you in the future still stands.

Final nitpick, German for Postcode is not postcode but Postleitzahl. But meh, who cares about German

...I'm fluent in /b/tard, but I can't imagine you ever wanting to say anything in that language. As such, I don't expect my particular translation services to be called upon.

But, you know, on the off-chance...

Ooh, translate this into /b/tard!

"Hello, how are you all doing today? I would like to engage in an intelligent discussion."

I dunno if there's a word for intelligent, or discussion in /b/tard...

I can translate into French!

Which is kinda boring I guess. Apparently people in Canada are very resentful of the French language so I don't suppose it will ever be used.

We're not resentful of French, we're resentful of ridiculous language laws like this one.

And the fact that we're forced to learn it...If I had some kind of reason other than "because it's an official language" to learn French, I'm sure I would've enjoyed it, but since I don't I resent having to spend all that time learning a language I'll likely never use, instead of learning one I will (such as Dutch).

I don't like to be forced to do anything though.

You're right on the money. There is no good way to translate that, because not only is there no word for intelligent, but the concept of wanting to know how other people feel is also completely absent from the language and culture.

No, "fringlish" is what the Acadians around here speak, also known as Chiac. Trust me, you do not want to get them and the Quebecois mixed up. It gets ugly.

Comparing Quebec and France is weird, but in an interesting way. Especially in the urban areas, France is actually much more English than most of Quebec. Namely because France is willing to recognize that it's heyday is past, and English is now the language of business and travel, and thus are willing to let it be used for those purposes. Quebec, not so much. Except for the areas where English has crept it's way in over their objections.

Quebecois speak Franglais, not Frenglish. :P

I grew up speaking french in school, and I'm really glad I learned it, however I was in immersion so I can actually use my french. It's probably a different case for people who only took it in grade 9.

I could go on at great length about immersion, but this is neither the time or the place.

I actually wish I had taken MORE French in high school. Knowing other languages is always good, and I think French would have (and will) come in handy at different times in my life.

I believe I'd be fairly fluent at French by now.

If only my French teacher spoke English more often.

fixed

Maybe you should learn to write English first :P Yeah, I started learning French when I was 4 so I've known how for as long as I can remember. The only problem I still have French is knowing whether a particular noun is male or female.

Also, I think it's funny that we all started talking about French when the video had no French in it whatsoever.

I think my favorite part was the multiple birds, but I think it would have been even better to include the British "backwards V" and the Italian "thumb biting."
