Re: The thread of win
Having my first ever Christmas away from the family today, and I'm having a ton of fun. It's weird not seeing my parents or brother, but my girlfriend's family is awesome and makes me feel really at home.
Also gonna go see Star Wars later so that's exciting.

Sold a thing on Zippi. Someone bought a £22.49 cushion. I get £4.50
Yay.
I'm grateful someone wanted a beakless pheasant on a cushion.

Re: The thread of win
One it's new years. So 6 years ago I met my now husband. Also, it is my older sister's birthday. On top of that, she is currently in labour. YAY!
Edit: Baby is born. I have a new niece! She is exactly 28 years younger than her mother. Both are doing good. my sister is tired though.

Re: The thread of win
Has there been no wins since New Year's? There must be something to celebrate. No matter how small.

You're healthy now. How is that not a win? Celebrate being healthy.

I decided to stop off in Iceland for a day on my way back from Britain.
I just got back from going to see the Northern Lights. It was quite spectacular to see multiple wavy bands of green light moving across the night sky.

Entered two competitions for artwork on a website, and I am getting a trickle of likes for my work. That's nice.

Playground Games, makers of the Forza Horizon series, asked if I would be interested in a job with them.

Re: The thread of win
Tomorrow night is date night. :3
Since he cooked on the first date, I'm cooking for this one. Insalata caprese, homemade spinach and chicken ravioli in brown butter sauce, and of course bread and balsamic. (Also secret dessert, I made chocolate mousse, it's in the fridge now.) And he's going to make breakfast and then we're going to see Hateful Eight on Saturday.
So this dating thing is going well, so I count that as a win.
Oh and I guess I got approved and hired as the deputy public relations officer for my grad student association, so now I get paid to do stuff I was doing anyway. Also win.

A friend of mine (a dude I met at the Edinburgh fringe) has been commissioned by the BBC to make a TV series, he's just posted a few shots on FB. I vaguely know what it's about as I saw the pilot a while ago and I can't wait to watch it.

Family trip to Montreal in 2 weeks. Called my cousin tonight. We're staying with them so we don't have to shell out for a hotel. I can't wait to see my grandparents!
Also it has been 10 years since my last visit to Montreal.

We got word today that we are approved for a mortgage - so long as nothing weird happens between now and the closing date, we are buying a house!
(This is our second attempt - the financing fell through on the first one.)
