Would anyone object to me creating articles for individual episodes of Loading Ready Live gaming streams?

My idea is that the articles would be similar to other episode articles, with the date (I think this should be AirDate, as it is shown live - The ReleaseDate would seem to be the youtube date, which isn't really relevant IMO), and the hosts, (AppearanceBy), and possibly a category for brief appearances. I don't think we need to include regular appearances on Filmographies (Heather and Ian on Rythm Cafe, say), as we can just say that they are the regular hosts, but list people on shows they aren't the regulars on, or for shows with no regulars (such as Crossing the Streams).

The big thing to consider is tagging games played on the streams. My proposal is to have the property (GamePlayed), to link to a page for each game, as we do for the various credits (AppearanceBy links to the page for Graham Stark, etc). Most could just be redirects, which I think should link to a list of games played on the article for the relevant stream (Crossing the Streams, say). We could create full articles for games that LRR play often (Overwatch, say, or Dark Souls), but I think for most games it 's worth having a sentence or two to briefly explain what a game is about, as if you haven't heard of a game, just the name doesn't tell you much.

That sounds fine to me. Some of the games from earlier streams would definitely need more fleshed-out articles because they lasted months at a time. Dark Souls, XCOM, Civ, STALKER, etc.

Ok, I've created an article for the most recent Rhythm Cafe: http://lrrwiki.com/index.php/Rhythm_Cafe_-_2017-01-15

I've created a redirect for Elite Beat Agents, to a list of games played on the stream, which is the sort of thing I'm thinking of. It can probably be expanded, and one of the things smw will let us do is produce an automatic list of episodes where a certain game is played. This might be a bit much if a game is just one of many on a list, but for games like Dark Souls that are played a lot, and get their own article, it seems it would be manageable.

If people like this, I'll create templates for it, and we'll need a navigation box.

I also have a suggestion that might help in creating templates. It's an extension called TemplateSandbox: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extensio ... ateSandbox

When you are editing a template, it lets you preview a page to see what it would look like with the new template code before you make it live. They have it installed on Wikipedia, and I find it very usefu.

I don't think we need a list of games played on the stream. Wiki users can get that information by scrolling through the episode list. Pages for individual episodes might be useful, though, as a place for screenshots, highlights, and trivia.

You've got a point. I think I'll probably create a full page for Elite Beat Agents, as I think they've played it and games in the Ouendan series quite a bit. My idea of having a list is to have somewhere to put a description of the games, but it seems that a lot of games be described on the page for the episode they appear in, as they are only played once.

One additional change might be to add the games played in an episode to its entry in the list of episodes. Currently, we just have the title, which doesn't always include all the games played. For example "Clap along with Clapper", the most recent Rhythm Cafe, doesn't mention Elite Beat Agents or Melody's Escape.

This is all a work in progress, so there's quite a bit of room to experiment with this.

Part of what makes the Wiki useful is that it puts a lot information in the same place in a relatively easy to access manner. If you want to make a list of games played, go right ahead. This would likely be more useful for shows like Watch+Play that play multiple games per stream.

I've altered the Rhythm Cafe entry for "Clap along with Clapper". (http://lrrwiki.com/index.php/Rhythm_Cafe). I've added the Games Played and Hosts. I also think we should remove the description field the row below the episode information when there isn't any meaningful description. At least in the case of Rhythm Cafe, the description on youtube always seems to be the broadcast date and possibly the games played, which we already have, or I will be adding. Compare Book of Passwords, where most (all?) episodes had a description.

I think that's more an age thing than a show thing. Early on, all episodes had descriptions, but as LRR has become less...leisurely about uploading episodes, they've stopped having them, except for episodes of things like Watch and Play where multiple games are played in a single session. Go ahead and add the Games Played. Hosts doesn't matter if the hosts are the same in all episodes--I only mention who streams on Newday Tewsday, where part of the gimmick is that it's different people every time.

Hi Mara. I like your approach of adding the games played in the description, rather than having a column for it, as you did for the Rhythm Cafe page. I also agree that we don't need the hosts on the episode lists if they are always the same. I think we should list the full hosts on the page for the corresponding episode, as that is how we usually treat episodes, and to provide data for queries (of episodes where Ian appears, say).

Uhh... I think the Wiki is having some kind of existential crisis.

On the plus side, the lrrwiki.com URL works fine, it's just wiki.loadingreadyrun.com that seems to be dead.

Looks like there was an issue with a server migration. Should be back up now.

Seems to be working okay for me.

Don't feel too bad about it breaking, it just kind of does that.
Out of curiosity, what did you do to break it?

A bunch of redirect pages for crapshots and a template for filmographies

King Kool or Chrusher, I think you're the wiki mods?
Can you approve a couple new editor accounts when you have a chance. Paranundrox is waiting for approval, and maybe others?

I forgot that approving new accounts was something I can and should do.

I am through the account requests, rejecting ones that look like spam bots and approving others. If your account gets rejected but you made a real request, please apply again and post your proposed wiki username here or on the LRR Discord's wiki thread.

Yeahhh I've been deeply distracted with a second job and some other stuff lately.

And I also can't log in for some reason. And every time lately that I've hit that wall, I've just given up and done something else.

I'll try to get back there tonight.

Here's a thought. You know how we have the subseries category for LRR Videos like Jonny and Story Guy?

Should we have those for Crapshots in series like The Gardening, The Basement, etc?

The way I have these formatted, they're all going to be the same color. Should I make it so that they can be different colors? Or would that not be a necessary stylistic thing?
