Maybe I'm just weird, but I find that fascinating, not disgusting. But then I took osteology and forensic osteology at university and spent a lot of hours in the bone lab. If anything, it makes me sad, because that child was only around 7 years old when he/she died.

I know the object itself isn't intrinsically disgusting. After all, there's one inside my head too. There's just something about the spongy sort of cavernous area around the lower teeth, the way it's sort of powdery and bone-y and and crushable... I don't know, just... something about it, and the fact that it's exposed bone, and I can imagine there being flesh on it.... Ugh.

Huh. I thought it was going to be unnerving. Slightly unsettling at most, but only because I'm used to stereotypical movie skulls.

I was unsettled at first.

Then I realized that's just:



Photoshopped onto some fingers, and thus not as bad as lotus seed pods photoshopped onto people.

I used to think my blackheads were alien parasite seedpods imbedded in my body, like genuinely, when I was 10 or something, so the seed pod photo manips are that but way worse.

It being photoshopped really doesn't make it that much better, honestly. It's five am now and this thread is definitely living up to its name.

On the plus side, I have learned how to make use of the "end" key to skip to the bottom of the page without having to scroll through the... stuff...

My roommate showed me a real photo of a decomposing corpse once. That was also really damn cool.

I've also eaten chili while watching visceral horror.

You know what squicks me out? The misremembered texture of marshmallows (my memory makes them disgusting). Mold growing on things. Someone using an animal's corpse as decoration.
