What don't you understand about the grammar? How to conjugate verbs?

I don't understand the difference between:
this
that
that (no veo)
these
those
those (no veo)

The difference between ser and estar.

I can speak Welsh at a conversational level. But only because I grew up in a Welsh speaking area (in Wales). I learnt Welsh grammar by listening. I don't live in a Spanish speaking area, I am not a linguist, I struggle with learning languages in a class room context; therefore I need to be in a Spanish speaking environment to learn.
Or have someone to have a dialogue with whilst I learning. Someone to speak it at me.

Quick overview:
This is este/esto/esta. Este is for masculine nouns, esta for feminine, and esto is for when you don't know what it is. Que es esto, for example.
That is ese/eso/esa. It's the same minus the t.
I'm not sure what not seeing it has to do with anything (no veo) unless that's how they're explaining esto and eso.
These and those are the same just pluralized. Estas or esas for example.
Ser is a permanent state of being; Yo soy de los estados unidos (I am from the US).
Estar is a temporary state of being; Estoy en mi casa (I am in my house).

OH! And aquello/aquella (which isn't used as much) loosely translates to "that over there" or "that thing a farther way away than I'd use esa for". It's odd. But "Aquellas mujeres" would be "those women over there". You'd probably use an arm-waving motion with it to indicate farness/roughly where they were.

If you did have money, I would recommend Rosetta Stone. It's quite good.

Frankly, I find Duolingo very helpful, but it's building on a foundation of four years of Spanish in school, so I don't know how it is otherwise.

I like Duolinguo. It's not perfect but it's pretty good.

On trick that helps me with ser/estar is that if it's followed by a noun, it's always "ser". I still struggle with picking one or the other sometimes, so if I can I just rephrase it using a noun, problem solved :P

I think I need to restart the book exercises again.
I'll read Fayili's help careful when i encounter that grammar again, and raise up any questions.

Thanks for all the inputs.

So, I moved house for a new job two weeks ago

Turns out I was sold a line about the job, and its main focus is phone sales. Me being me, this is intensely stressful and I'm having trouble sleeping, though I went back to my parents at the weekend and broke down a bit, which helped. My parents are always there for me, I'm very lucky in that regard. I also got to see my friends and lie about how the new job was going.

I can't really leave the job or I'll run out of money, so I've been applying for other jobs. The problem is, I'm still in the provisional stage at this sales job, so I can be dismissed for any reason.

Question: How do I get time off for job interviews without getting fired? I don't want to lie, but they're going to want to know why I need the day off, how do I phrase it?

If I knew how to do this myself, I'd probably be any use in a sales job. (Also, it wouldn't surprise me if I get fired at some point for not being any use, I want to preempt that)

Well, what I have done in the past is when they asked when I was available for interviews, I named my day off or before/after my shifts so the interviews wouldn't be during work. Is that not an option for you?

I've offered to produce a painting for two of my friends who are getting married.
They requested if the dimensions of the canvas would be 16:9.

The best I can offer is a 1.5 ratio.

Know where I can get canvas much closer to these ratios?
I can't make it because that's a lot of fuss, and I don't have that much time to spare.
I can justify paying more than £25 for it. I have canvases with me now.
I'd like to supply the request, but it's not a HAVE TO.

There is an art shop in my city (Newcastle) that will make custom canvasses, you can go in and ask them to make a blank to any dimensions you want, and I've also seen them in Leeds and Nottingham - I'm fairly certain that in most large cities in the UK you should be able to find such a service, (I guess anywhere with a university that offers art courses is likely).

If you can't find a place nearby, there are online stores that will offer the same service.

Thanks for the advice. I cannot find any custom canvas shops that will do the dimensions for my budget.
I think I will need to negotiate for a more realistic dimension canvas.

The wedding is in 88 days. Which is why I suggested this as early as I could, so any annoying logistics can be sorted.

Found a canvas that was 60cm x 35cm which was close to 9:16.
£7.50.

Yay. eBay.

Technical advice needed. I have a plan for doing something in the (hopefully near) future. However, it requires being logged into the same site under 5 separate accounts at the same time. Do I just need to have 5 separate browsers open? If so, I'll figure something out. I can get 4 easily.

Ubuntu, so no IE, but I failed to realize that FireFox had Incognito as well. So I've got rekonq, Chromium, Chrome, Chrome Incognito, FireFox, FireFox Incognito... OK, I've got enough to do it that way. Just wondering if I could do it a different way with different browser sessions on the same browser.

You can just open up multiple instances of Firefox or Chrome incognito - each window should be a separate session.

How can I further reduce the jealousy that swells in my heart when I see artists being promoted by services that I also use?
