As long as it's not the same kind of 'beating' as he took in Casino Royale, it'll be fine.

Re: The General Chat thread
I was talking the other day to a customer at the bookstore. We were alone. It was a slow day, it was raining heavily outside and I was lamenting the absence of coffee. After a while the dude made his purchase and left. He returned 15 or 20 minutes later with a hot cup of coffee. I went on and on thanking him, and asked him where he was from. He said he was Canadian, then flew away through the window.

You should get a little Boba Fett action figure and stick him in there. Then dig him back out before the cake bakes while nobody's looking.

I don't know, I can see Disney resurrecting Fett somehow. Then launching his own series of movies or something. Or TV show. I know, an origins TV show! Kicks off where Clone Wars left and we see Fett played by Will Smith's kid as he starts piecing his famous suit together and runs into a younger version of every character of the original trilogy.
It'll be called... Fett.

They did that with a really terrible series of kids' novels of which I seem to have every volume for some reason.
Fancy that.

They did that with pretty much every significant character, from what I remember.
...I wonder if any of them actually crossed over and showed the same encounters from the other side.

Re: The General Chat thread
So I generally don't like using things like Ad-Block for websites, because I know that they use adverts to help with income and enable them to provide a lot of content for free. But I have to put it on the Escapist. Their advertising is SO intrusive and annoying (auto videos) that I just have to enable ad-block in order for me to be able to go to their site without being endlessly annoyed (Of course I could just go to their forums : 3).
It's a shame really, because I don't want to block adverts that help keep content free, but there has to come a point where I ask them to have a better control over the ads they show to not punish me for not being a subscriber.

Re: The General Chat thread
I couldn't agree more, which is why I'm glad that more and more of their content is migrating to Youtube. Jimquisition is now indie, Escape to the Movies comes out the day of, LRR is back on Youtube. Now I only need to suffer that website (which is poorly designed even with the ads blocked and I hate proprietary video players) twice a week for the Big Picture and Zero Punctuation.

I don't recall installing any kind of ad-block, yet I don't seem to be plagued by ads like so many people complain about. I don't know if this is a regional thing or I just never realized I had ad-block to begin with?

You mean you don't get ads, or just don't get the annoying ads?

I mean when I click play on a video, the video just plays. No ads before it. No ads of any kind play on The Escapist for me, at any instance, in any page. I wanted to bring it up once upon a time in the forums but apparently the mere discussion of ad block is a punishable offense at The Escapist.

Are you Pubclub member (or whatever it's called)? Because I think they don't get any ads.

Re: The General Chat thread
Bebop, it might be a good idea to check your extensions, to make sure you didn't install an ad blocker by mistake. I have no reason to believe that living in a particular region would give you less ads. It would certainly change the nature of your ads. If a website is advertising things that aren't available in your region, for example.
On an unrelated note, whose bright idea was it to put speakers in the BOTTOM of my new laptop's frame? I have my own speakers and headphones so I'm not really pissed enough to put this in the venting thread, but that really is super dumb.

Re: The General Chat thread
If I did install an ad blocker by mistake, it was years ago (since I've never gotten ads on Escapist) and I see no upside to uninstalling it.
