Today's comic was totally worth the wait.

I was a little disappointed when you took the week off, because I thought that TMCH had finished already, after such a promising start. :P

But now it's back to normal. And whether it's related to some sort of absence-makes-the-heart-grow-fonder attitude or not, I think that "purrr gnaw purr" is one of the funniest things this comic has ever put out. :D

Hmm. . . pedant weaboo powers, activate!

Your 'ha' looks like a cross between 'ma' and 'ho', and the uncompleted bottom loop of your 'ma' makes it look like a backwards 'mo'. Also, the ten-ten is usually drawn more inside the 'te' when writing 'de'.

わたしはまるです!

Of course I've really been enjoying the comic lately, too, but I felt compelled to point that out.

Sweet, a meme-making competition!
I've never made a meme before. Especially not with an actual cat.

While I'm here, I should say that I actually disagree with Annika (and Kathleen) on the quality of Mylo Xyloto. Apart from an admittedly significant drop in quality during tracks 8 through 10, I really enjoyed it.
(Charlie Brown really grows on you after the first few listens.)

Meanwhile, I made this.

At what point does Fort Catbutt get so filled with cat hair that it's no longer recyclable?

So i've just spent the last 3 hours writing up one single lecture about primary hyperaldosteronism and now hate it. Was wondering if your cat felt the same way?

Think of it as a Hyper Zoanoid. It's better than the normal Zoanoids but still easily beaten by the Guyver I.

Hyperaldosteronism is better than the normal Aldosteronism but it still easily beaten by Spironolactone.

So I'm glad I finally got around to reading a decent bit of Guyver otherwise I would be even more confused haha. But big words are big haha.

Yeah I really don't recommend you look into it, unless for some reason you're obsessed renal endocrinology (and why you'd be obsessed with THAT I have no idea...)

Has anyone ever noticed that the first four gifts on the Twelve Days of Christmas are all birds? Why is that?

I love the wonderfully silly-looking partridge. :D

You end up with 5 rings, 8 undefined milkable items, 23 instruments, 23 birds and 32 people. So your one true love is giving you a LOT of upkeep expenses and is endorsing slavery.

More importantly, you end up with 12+(11*2)+(10*3)+(9*4)+(8*5)+(7*6)+(6*7)+(5*8)+(4*9)+(3*10)+(2*11)+12=364 items. That's one gift a day for the entire year. Except for Christmas Day. No gift for Christmas day.

It's also worth pointing out that item #5 isn't actually referring to rings. It refers to the ring-necked pheasant (goldspinks). Thus, the first 7 days of gifts are: Swans, Geese, Pheasants, Colly Birds, French Hens, Turtledoves, and a Partridge.

Finally, the "twelfth day of Christmas" is January 5th, which is the day before the Feast of the Epiphany. These 12 days from Christmas to Theophany Eve are known as Christmastide (or Yuletide), and are technically ALL celebrated as one big holiday. Many more-traditional forms of Christianity also celebrate an additional 28 days, for a full 40 days from Christmas to Candlemas (the Presentation of Christ to the Temple).

it doesnt state if the lover gives a new item each day so he could simply be saying "here is this gift, and look at all the other things I gave you"

Actually, if you pay close attention to the lyrics, it states quite clearly that on day 1 they received a partridge. On day 2 they received 2 doves AND a partridge. That's 4 birds so far.

There's a very funny monologue from the woman's perspective as if she's writing a thank you letter back to her "true love" for each gift, getting more and more irate as her house gets filled with birds and people. The version I've heard is was definitely family-friendly, but this version isn't.
