Re: The UK Cons thread
A welsh con would be welcomed.
Host it on Snowdon's peak and theme it around Fantasy.
Then watch loads of Cosplayers fall off 1 mile high cliffs/get lost and die.
Sounds like nothing could go wrong.

It's also very hard to get to if you don't have access to a car/someone giving you a lift.
At least it's a pretty location.

Re: The UK Cons thread
RPing a Skyrim quest on the Snowdonian mountside does sound fun...
in till the rain comes in out of the blue and daylight magically shortens, and we're a mile away from the nearest village stranged in the middle of a bog cold, wet and hungry.
Funny... Skyrim never featured being stranded on a mountain top. You would just YOLOhorse down the side of the peak, immune from all the discomforts of real-life mountain walking.

Re: The UK Cons thread
Problem with Skyrim Larp would be that everyone would want to be the Dragonborn and other characters won't really matter all that much...
(although... Argonian cosplaying... )

Either that or everybody would dress up as a guard with an arrow in their knee...

Or people would start attacking anything that moves with a weapon...
Or try jumping down fairly-high height (instead of walkign round) and expecting to be able to recoup health after a little while...

Time to Necro this thread.
I'm currently contemplating going to:
MCM London Comic Con - 23rd - 25th May (http://www.mcmcomiccon.com/london/)
9 Worlds - 8-10th August (https://nineworlds.co.uk/)
If we get a enough confirmed Runners for MCM, I've finally found the link to submit fan meetups so I can register an official runners gathering.

Possibly to either... depends on term dates/if I get an internship this summer.

Re: The UK Cons thread
I'm going to strongly recommend against going to MCM London Expo, as they are flat refusing to detail what they are doing to prevent another dangerous crowd crush.

Re: The UK Cons thread
I would be interested in turning up to one of these, and disinterested in getting crushed.
I can probably arrange time off as needed, with enough advance notice.

Ah. Crowd control was better in October than it has been at previous events but it was still dodgy, I'm surprised they aren't prioritising that.

Re: The UK Cons thread
Ooo. Just remembered that in August I would be hoping to go to Edinburgh, so probably not attending 9 worlds. MCM could well work then, I am tall enough to generally not have too much difficulty navigating crowds.

I can't do the full weekend. Currently debating whether I do the Saturday or the Sunday.

'Fraid not for me, though I have been roped into EGX in September, so if anyone else is going, I'll definitly be there Saturday and Sunday. It'd be cool to hang out or something

Well wear a yellow rose in your buttonhole and I'll tie myself around an old oak tree.
