Audio Issues

Postby Highlander » 16 Feb 2017, 11:38

Hey there,

I'm getting a lot of background noise on my Rode VideoMic and H4N setup. I remember ages ago on a LRRcast that the gang suggested feeding a tone into the other channel in order to cancel this out. I think it was accompanied by a joke about the Boards of Canada.

Am I hallucinating? Or did this actually happen? If so how would you go about setting it up? If not, any help would be appreciated.

That was only necessary to prevent the auto gain adjustment on the canon t3i from kicking in. On an H4n, you should be able to set the gain manually, so there is no need to mess with adding tone.
