FORUMS! HELP LRR!

Postby Graham » 08 May 2008, 14:01

Hey guys, trying a little experiment here.

Break.com (yes, who previously put up our vids without asking) will pay $200+ for videos that they deem good enough for their main page (but this time, we can retain our rights).

But to do that, it needs to get noticed by them. So, go to this page here:
http://my.break.com/content/view.aspx?ContentID=500193
and give the video a "thumbs up" on the right side of the video.

Let's see how well this works. Thanks guys!

TL;DR - Thumbs up, we might get money

So... they're showing your video anyway, and if it gets enough attention (decided by them), they may give you some money?

And we have to register to vote?

Sorry, didn't realize you had to register.

We upload the video ourselves. If it gets enough positive feedback, they put it on the mainpage, and we get $200, then $300, then $400, if we continue to get videos on there.

Look, it's better than nothing, okay?
You know what we're earning right now? NOTHING. The chance of $200 is better than that.

Well, don't worry if you don't want to register. I know you guys don't want to.

I registered and voted, as LRR is awesome, and as lame as break.com is, for whatever reason they have money and LRR doesn't. So it's only right that I do my part to shift that balance of money in LRR's direction.

It takes all of 20 seconds to register (less if you already have your email open.)

Get to it!

Graham, what do you think will happen when they look at their site stats and realize that many of the people who voted for the video registered for the sole purpose of that single action?

Did the advertising debacle teach us nothing?

Tough love time: I'm not going to vote on the video.

This hurts me more than it hurts you.

Well I was willing to give LRR £100 if Graham made a Iron Man style Cod piece and used it without any other clothing.

Starring Bill as the bad guy, we later see the box ripped apart and Graham in the fetal position, as his codpiece failed him.
It was really too big:

I give you this instead

Well, last time we asked people to help with something that required registration everyone was a giant blubbering vagina about it, so I figured I'd let you all off the hook this time.

You know what happens with giant blubbering vaginas?

Douchebags and dildos.

Is that the kind of life people want to lead? I think not.

Voted.
Also, I thought a positive comment might be somewhat helpful.

You know...
We could all post comments raving about how awesome the video is. It may help prevent people from seeing "lame" and it affecting their watching of the video/
It would make only a subtle difference, but perhaps enough difference to score a few more votes.

Part of the problem is that your videos are too highbrow.

No, your videos aren't especially highbrow. But they don't have the rectal exam and urination jokes that bring in the likes of people who frequent Break.com .

Voted. On the note of rectal exam jokes. Rejected wiiplay games is the second most viewed video on LRR. And if you recall, it has a rectal exam AND urination joke. Connections anyone?

EDIT: Spaced there for a bit and sent it to the wrong email -.-; I'll vote after.

A general concern for authenticity, it appears we can vote over and over.

Dont.

They might track it and find it to be shifty, and disqualify it.
