And I get the Niko cousin thing a lot. Also people call me Dan and Matt for some reason too. OH and they call me Baby. Don't get that one...

I was really surprised by the trailer - as in, it doesn't suck. Also, I think this qualifies as it's own thread. I mean, it would if you gave it a bit more preface, and not just a link. I probably won't see it in theatres, but for a live action adaptation of a brilliant children's book, it looks pretty good. I would prefer it to be animated (traditional, of course, CGI would kill it), but the Things actually look pretty good, and I love his costume!

I totally approve of this thread, because we can talk about how awesome Where The Wild Things Are is!

I absolutely LOVED this book as a kid, even though I was a little bit afraid of it, and it was kind of sad. I saw a link to this on someone's Facebook today and I couldn't believe it. I'm actually really looking forward to it, Spike Jonze has done some pretty cool stuff.

I actually just came here to make this topic so I can dig it.

seems like spike made a good call waiting for the effects to be up to snuff, but i wonder what someone like del toro would have done with this property.

I really like the animatronics in it, and Spike Jonze knows how to make stuff look good. I have high hopes.

I am pretty worried about this movie. Its been in development hell for years, last I heard it was getting canceled, but that was a year ago. Hope they got all the issues worked out

I believe the delays were simply because Jonze refused to release it until the technology was available to do exactly what he wanted. Which I can get behind.

I am just glad they are going puppet/animatronic with it instead of CGI. I say, if you can build it physically in puppet form then do it (George Lucas please take note of this). It will always look better and is way easier to act with.

I am of the opinion that the movie should be a cartoon done in a similar style to the book. Possibly because I have a huge attachment to the book because I made my mom read it to me every single night.

Also, for carnival at my college we build these things called "booths" and they all have themes and what not. Anyway, this year's overall carnival theme is "Epic Adventures" and the organization I'm in chose "Where the WIld things Are". We are currently making lifesize wild things out of paper mache... they are quite awesome if i say so myself.

Hey guys, they did make an animated version of Where the Wild Things Are. It was pretty short. Like half an hour. I saw it a few times in school.
