Crapshot Idea: The Safety Video

Postby CaptainSpam » 13 Apr 2016, 19:10

(entire video is in black and white with a grainy 50s filmstrip filter; film is silent except for narrator, scratchiness, and maybe a 50s-ish safety video soundtrack)

(stock footage shots of atomic bomb tests)

Narrator: We all know the atomic bomb is very dangerous. It can destroy entire cities in the blink of an eye, faster than the biggest fire you can imagine, faster than the biggest bulldozer you can find! But if you follow these simple instructions-

(scene change: someone (Cam?) standing in front of the green screen, minding his/her own business in a normal North American suburb)

-you can survive, if the time ever comes. Watch carefully.

(flash of light; person turns around, surprised)
(person immediately rolls on the ground in the direction of the blast)

Narrator: That's right. If you just time your roll correctly, your i-frames will protect you from the blast.

(mid-roll, the entire screen goes white)
(when it comes back, the scene is now one of complete devastation; person completes the roll, stands up, looks at the devastation, then turns to the camera with a smile and a thumbs-up)

Narrator: Now, watch these two.

(two others (Graham and Cori?) are in a similar scene)
(another flash of light; they react like the first person did, but their rolls are slightly off)
(after screen goes white, scene is again complete devastation; two bleached white skeletons lie on the ground)

Narrator: These people were scrubs. But, if you take the time to get good-

(fade to shot of first person superimposed over shot of national flag in the wind)

-you can live on to serve your country in its darkest hour.

Dunno, was just an idea that sprang into my head when watching the Dark Souls streams and their "rolling protects you from everything" nature.
