LoadingReadyRun 6th Year Screening in VANCOUVER

Postby Graham » 12 Aug 2009, 17:09

Hey everyone!
Last year we had a blast at the 5-Year Screening, so we decided to have another one this year. But this year we needed a bigger space, and that meant a bigger city (well, also because so many of our fans came in from Vancouver for last year's event).

So, we're pleased to announce:
The LRR 6-Year Screening
Saturday November 7th

2:00PM - 5:30PM
The Rio Theatre, Vancouver, BC

Information on The Rio Theatre here.
It's right by Commercial SkyTrain station, so it's easy to get to, and there's plenty of street parking nearby.

PLEASE GET TICKETS IN ADVANCE:
Tix are $6.00 CDN and are available online here: through Brown Paper Tickets.
Assuming online tickets don't sell out (which would be impressive) additional tickets will be $6 at the door.

We'll be there, and we hope you will too!
More info on what shenanigans to expect to follow.

I'll be in University by then with any luck, and after September certainly unable to afford the trip, but I'll definitely be watching this thread and any media to see how things go.

For anyone who is coming over from the Island (like we are) there's plenty of time to get back afterwards.

EFF

YES

I attended the 5th year screening last year, when I lived in Vic (I was the guy sitting beside the older lady who walked out on "Son of a Bitch") and now I'm on the mainland. Sweet.

I'm sure a lot of us would love it if you streamed it. Or at least filmed it.

Ho shit, it's on my birthday. There is a possibility I will go, but I may be rideless on the mainland side. Anyone coming from the island want to give me a ride from/to the ferry?

EVENT RESCHEDULED!!!

Despite arranging everything yesterday, the venue informed us that there was a conflict.
So we've had to move it to the beginning of the following month. Sorry if that ruins it for anybody.

It will still be great!

@bob_the_camel: We're not "keeping track" of who is and is not coming, so you have to buy a ticket. Either in advance or at the door (but the door is first come, first serve). Thanks!

We actually picked the Rio because it's SO easy to get to. It's right beside the nexus of two skytrain lines.

Via ferry:
Ferry to Vancouver
Take pacific coach bus to Vancouver, walk across the street to the main street skytrain station, go one stop east to commercial drive

Via bus or train from the united states:
take amtrak/greyhound to bus/train terminal, walk across the street to the main street skytrain station, go one stop east to commercial drive

Via airplane
Take Canada line skytrain to Granville street skytrain station, transfer to Expo line eastbound, get off at commercial skytrain station

It is so easy to get there, you do not need a ride at all. It's nice to get a ride, but totally do-able without.
HOLY SHIT GUYS! BEARS!

So, even though I'm not able to come, I am curious...

what will the format be for this screening? More "fan-picked" videos? AskLRR live? Trivia? I don't know if we will be doing awards again this year, but we may be doing something for the fans by the fans. Will you all be giving more format/event details soon? (I'm taking the guess that you may not have planned the event out too much yet.)

Since the screening is in Vancouver, and so am I, I'm going to try and coordinate some fun stuff for this!

There will be: prizes! excitement! a concession! people! things! videos! etc, etc.

However, if you guys have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
I sort of want to make the screening into a big LRR-themed get together, complete with meeting & greeting, hanging out, drinks, etc.

How long do you have the theatre for? All day? It would be sweet if we turned it into a mini-Con. I'd be tempted to get some people D&Ding, have a LAN or something, and Goldeneye on the big screen. Thoughts? Feasible?

Sadly no. We only have the theatre for 5 hours. It gets kind of expensive (which is why we're having to charge admission this year, sorry).
I'm all for extra-curricular funtimes though!

Five hours at the theater + rest of the night in Vancouver = A localized increase in gang activity?

I may not be able to go, but I would suggest a few things. Maybe a 5 person door drawing or raffle. The prize: Honorary Pit Crew for Desert Bus 2.5 (aka they have to play Desert Bus for an hour during the screening in one corner of the stage, and a pit crew badge or hat or something. I'll revise it soon enough...)
