AskLRR - Closes SOON!!!

Postby James » 25 Jun 2011, 08:49

Making this a short one today as we have a bunch of stuff to do and want to keep the podcast at a reasonable length this week.

Something I've been wondering for a while; how do you feel about Justin Bieber and/or Rebecca Black?

Also, I'm sitting here eating salted pistachios. Do you prefer the salted ones or the plain ones?

First, a what if question.
It has been stated that your entry of Unskippable into the Escapist's competition a few years ago may not have happened. What do you think LRR would be like now if you had not entered the competition?

Why is Kim Jong Il on the cover of the Wii game Just Dance 2?

Power Rangers, was this a part of anyone's life?

Geek and Nerd, do you think there is a difference between the nerds and if so what do you think it is and do you think 0people care about these definitions far too much or do you think that there is some merit to having some sort of name to call this vague group.

Anyone here big on the Pokemon games or is that simply out of your interests.

When was that moment you realized "Oh my god, I think I'm old now."

Do you guys listen to other Podcasts? If so is GeekNights on your list?

first time I have caught the thread open in ages so here goes:

If each crew member had to legally change their name to one of these two options which would they choose?

1) Their actual first name with LRR as a surname.
or
2) Any username they have ever used on a forum or in some capacity online which does NOT include all or part of their name.

(Alternatively Graham can just change his name to George Gordon)

Also How does Paul feel (if present) about the news that the studio who made Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom has probably closed down? I gather that he liked that game specifically, but was he actually hoping to play their future games?

Where I live new Sets of M:TG Commander have just been released. How do the crew feel about Wizards finally acknowledging the format?

First time I caught this! Yes!

Just wondering, does anyone on LRR follow Formula 1, and what do they think of the season so far, and who are their favourite drivers/teams?

Also I'm trying to get back into Magic The Gathering after stopping something like 10 years ago and am thinking of joining Magic Online, are you willing to share your usernames on there since it would be quite fun for a lot of people to have a game with you on there.

Thirdly, any chance of more ISC? The suggestion thread is really full of ideas for good ones, so just wondering, anything in the works or things that caught your eye?

And finally, you may have already answered this at some point, but how did you meet all those other great people that are occasionally involved with LRR, like Dale and Wes Borg?

Hello,
MAIN QUESTION a) The gaming industry has seen a loss for the first time in 10 years, why do you believe this is?

b) Do you think that the askLRR thread gets long each week despite it's small timeframe, or because of it? I for one have been checking the forums daily so as not to miss it.

c) Anybody cosplay?

d) Matt - if they made special MLP Pony mounts in WoW would you buy one? (if yes, which)

Thanks guys
- Also you are awesome, loving Checkpoint, Feed Dump and the Vidcast.

Hey there. Long time LRR fan, first time question asker.
As performers both in front of the camera and on the stage, I'm guessing you must have had to deal with stage fright in the past. Has this ever been the case for any of the LRR crew? And what methods would you recommend for overcoming stage fright when it hits?

A couple of questions:

1) What's worse, Crabcore (no need to explain here) or Crunkcore (stuff like brokeNCYDE)?

2) Anyone here a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series? If so, what is your opinion on the handheld games released so far?

3) Now that the other three games in the Fabula Nova Crystals saga (the FF13 universe) have gameplay footage and information, which, if any, of the three are you looking forward to the most: FF13-2, FF Type Zero, or FF Versus 13?

4) If you could introduce a new mechanic to Magic, what would it be?

5) What, if any, is your nerd/geek deadly sin, as in do you like something that as a nerd/geek you're not suppossed to like or you hate something that as a nerd/geek you're expected to like?

6) So, what are Bill and Morgan up to these days?

Where do you guys find the stories for Feed (sorry, Pheed) Dump, and is it scripted at all?

Also, steampunk or cyberpunk?

HAH. In while it's open. Let's get some questions out. If these have been answered in previous casts, I apologize.

1. During your free time (which i'm sure isn't a lot) what genre of music do you all listen to and favorite artists within the genre?

2. Best retro (up to N64) game you've enjoyed that still holds it's replay value today?

3. Do you think that eventually technology in any form will reach a ceiling, much like games seem to have hit the top of their technology for right now?

4. Did anyone in the crew actually play through all of FF13 and enjoy it? I started a playthrough the other day and can't seem to keep myself going at times.

5. Echoing Dark_Watcher's question of what are Bill and Morgan up to these days. I require my dosage of 7-foot-tall ginger.

And specifically...

James has not yet changed his twitter pic to Gun Butt, P.I. I am disappoint.

Matt, I hope you're crushed under the weight of your T11 shoulders. Been trying to get a pair for what seems like forever. Terrible luck.

Jer, i'm pretty sure downing a 2-liter of Club Soda in a single go is a form of ISC.

Also, I have had at least one reply on twitter from everyone in the LRR crew except for Paul, who does not have twitter. Could Paul just say hello to me so my existence can have complete validation?

You guys are awesome. Thanks.

In recent years, or in the near future, Transformers, GI Joe, Thunder Cats and several other 80s franchises have gotten (or will get) major reboots. What other series/franchises from the 80s do you think should get a reboot, and what franchises do you think need to stay dead forever?

(Yes, I know GI Joe and Transformers have never actually stopped, but as far as the public is concerned there was no Transformers franchise between G1 and the Bay movies)

If a Forum member had won the lottery who waited until the last half hour of Desert Bus to drop $1,000,000 into the chip-in. How much would you hate that person?*

*I have not won the lottery. But that would be my plan if I had.

Did you say happy birthday to Jeph Jacques at Calgary Expo?
--
(The Very Best of Room Tone) Who were the extras in the stinger?
--
(Garagellenium)
Find anything good at the real thing? Matt's blog post mentioned you didn't have much luck (possibly due to being busy making the video).
James isn't that clueless, even in Hustle. Was he deliberately letting Matt get away with it or is this an example of Matt's hereto hidden ninja skills?
--
(Past Mistakes) Has Kathleen seen The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and if so was it in any way an influence on this video?
--
(The Whole Story: Spam)
Why don't we get more videos of just Paul (or whoever) in a hideous jacket talking cobblers?
Would actual real life bacon plants be awesome or lame?
Since he isn't credited with any tangible production role, why was James present at the shoot?
