Dinosaur

Postby Graham » 23 Feb 2007, 15:53

Check it out, real location: Pet Shop.

The sound you hear is just some of the 2000 crickets they get in every week. Ahhh, verisimilitude.

Also, big thanks to Tensen01 for the awesome drawings he did for us!

I'm not done watching it yet, I just thought to comment that I find it pretty funny that I can see Graham's reflection in the mirror when he supposedly went to look for dino food in the back.

Oh. Well, when I think of the back of a store I usually think of a storeroom-type place out of sight from the customer. Sorry.

If anything, it's funny how he didn't look for anything, he just stood there.

For some reason I liked how Graham the investigator from Rapidfire standing in the background of the news report... which made it difficult for him being the field agent for action 9 news... maybe you should try that sometime. You did a similar thing Pimpy My Chair of killah byte.

You mean split screening it so I'm playing Detective Riley and Steve Clark of Action9?
Might have worked, if I wasn't also Neil the pet shop owner in this case.

Yeah, that would've been funny. I liked how I could spot you and James in the background, I was trying to imagine what series of events you were telling him that led up to Paul being the dino.

(Oh, and this video's page is now up on the Wiki)

I wonder what they concluded was actually responsible. The murder took place in a shop. "Little Shop of Horrors" began in a shop. The giant plant in "Little Shop of Horrors" was named Audrey II. Obviously the murderer was the second cousin of a botanist named Audrey.

Between it being in a pet shop and the "I'm afraid we don't get much call for that round here sir" I was definitely thinking Monty Python. Only Graham is more John Cleese and Paul more Michael Palin than the other way around.

The cops from Rapidfire in the background just killed me. :D

Incidentally: Paul, love the new avatar. Where'd you get it? I presume it was inspired by your snappy wardrobe these last two videos.

Haha, it's the art that Tensen did. It was shown when Graham showed the Dino book to Paul.

Permit me to rephase myself: Paul, who drew your new avatar? It's awesome.

Tensen01, I see. Thanks, misty.

I loved Matt's line about the suspect being "between five and forty-two feet tall who may be wielding a tail comprised of several large osteopods." I also love how absurd the idea is, it kinda reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes strips with the Transmogrifier where Calvin is convinced he has become a tiger (and I think a dinosaur in another one).
I'm a very boring person.

I was surprised that the unit of 'feet' was used, given that LRR's in the Land of Metric.

Paul, I love your new avatar... if I do say so myself :D

And I was one of those kids who wanted to be a Paleontologist when I grew up, so I totally dig that I wrote AND illustrated a book on Dinosaurs :D

I really wish I coulda drawn the Triceratops and the Brachiosaur too... just not enough time :)

Anyways, dug the video very much.

If you need artwork for future sketches let me know :D

Though Canada is officially a metric country, imperial measures are often used. In construction everything is in imperial. You are far more likely to say that I am six foot one than say that your are 1.85 m. The dinosaur book could have been American but the newscast would have likely used metric.

Well, seeing as how I'm from the US, and I wrote it, it would, of course, be in feet :P

Man people have good eyes, I thought I'd be the only one to notice Graham in the background during the news report. Damn.
And yeah, the scream wasn't up to par. Tsk tsk, Graham.

Good video though, I actually really enjoyed this :D
