The Steam Sale. The event that makes you feel shit about yourself when you bought a game with a slight discount.

I'm hoping FF8 gets put up, or some engaging Western RPG.

The Winter sale disappointed me because I bought Titanquest which I really didn't enjoy.

I'd be interested to see what games get put up on the sale given that Humble Bundle regularly does good business :D

I have managed to be quite restrained in previous Steam sales, I think I can stop myself buying most games that aren't on my wishlist.

This reminds me, I haven't played Walking Dead season 2 episode 4 yet
I have nothing to add.
I think it helps that I have very little free time and enjoy minecraft and kerbal so much too, and there's all that crap alpha stuff going for full game prices that mean I'd be VERY wary of buying a game on a whim.

I bought Final Fantasy 2 and Witcher 8.

(The Rollercoaster Tycoon series is on Steam [3 had been up for a while]. They're not on sale yet though sadly)

O.o Do you mean Final Fantasy 8 and Witcher 2? Because if there's a Final Fantasy 2 on Steam right now...

So what have people bought so far? I've gotten:
Witcher 2
Battleblock Theater
Democracy 3
Card City Nights

For a total of like $15.

Anxiously hoping SpinTires will go on sale, probably won't though.

Last year, I forget what exactly, but a popular newly released game got 15% off. So, might be a tiny bit off.

Sorry, no FF2.

I originally typed by mistake "FF8 and Witcher 8". I found the error amusing, so I purposely switched the numbers around. Sorry if I gave false hope.

HOWEVER, Rollercoaster Tycoon 1, 2 (as well as 3 that has been available for years) are available on Steam now (though not on sale. They might be however in the future)

I got Dead Island: Riptide. Just because. Never beat Dead Island. Boring game but story and world seemed interesting enough.

I also got The Witcher 1. Already have it in physical, wasn't working on GOG and thought "Why not? It's only £1." Plus it gives me a Witcher 3 discount in the long-run.

Nothing else for me I don't think.

I hadn't looked at that point, so I was feeling 'anguish in potentia' as it were. :)

I've since skimmed through, and not really had any "OH!" moments....yet.

Also, I actually have a whole FOUR items on my 30-item wishlist not on sale.

Welp, time to set the alarm clock for three hours from now for the new flash sales...

If you want, I also have an unredeemed Steam wallet code for $20. Would that be better?

Otherwise, if there's anything you'd like that's on Daily/Flash just shoot me a pm. :)

Out of 77 wishlist items, 19 were on sale. I'm disappointed, but I'll wait for later days to see if they go on sale later.

I'm trying to ride out the Steam Sale storm with Wildstar. Half my wishlist is on sale but I haven't bought anything yet. If something on my wishlist goes on sale for like 66-75% off I may have to drop a line and reel it in. In the meantime, batten down the hatches on my wallet. Also, if STALKER goes on sale like, at all, I'll probably buy SoC and CoP because I've otherwise never seen them go on sale.

I've realized the zen way to save one's self from Steam sales; I shall not buy a game I will not play soon, regardless of the discount. No "I'll save this for a rainy day," or "This will be great when I upgrade my computer." If I'm not immediately installing it, I shall not buy it.

I already have a little over one-hundred-fifty games, and I've played maybe a third of them. And of those, there are still many I haven't completed to satisfaction. I don't need more games collecting digital dust.

What I try to do is consider buying a game if:
The discount is at like ~75%
The price is below £7.50
The game is something I might play and enjoy.

It's disappointing deciding to not buy a game, but it's more disappointing buying a game I didn't enjoy.

I bought Witcher2 on a whim. I hated Witcher 1. But, I hated Mass Effect 1, but adored Mass Effect 2. The gameplay might shift enough so I'd enjoy it.

I'm hoping I'll enjoy FF8 because its graphical aesthetic looks better than FF7. I didn't enjoy FF7's sharp polygyny character models against a pixley background.

Yeah, FFVIII was great :D still hoping for a 90% sale someday (not necessarily within the confines of this sale).

My "will I get this game" logic is that I have 20€, and when it's gone it's gone :P
So I have to really think if a game really is worth x% of my total budget.
