This makes me wonder when Metroid: Other M-2 comes out.
Re: Metroid Other M, Part 1
I thought Yahtzee was exaggerating how bad the voice acting was, but no. I literally cringed when hearing that. Even with Graham and Paul riffing, I almost didn't make it through.

Wow. They really improved the graphics of Asteroids since I last played it.

Other M, I knew Super Metroid, I played Super Metroid, Super Metroid was a good game. Other M, you are no Super Metroid.

Actual Opinion: *sigh*.
I'll be honest, I enjoyed Metroid: Other M (before I had to ban myself from the Wii so I could take my HSC exams), but I really did enjoy it for the gameplay. Jessica Martin speaks like she's learning a new language. And the script has many awful cases (several of which we saw there) of Telling, not Showing.
Jessica-Martin-as-Samus-style Opinion: I watched carefully as Graham and Paul narrated their way through the cutscene. I felt bad for the game. I hoped that nobody judged the gameplay too harshly as a result of this. If only there was a way I could make them understand that not everything was dull about the game. I knew that Unskippable was meant to be a humourous take on all gaming cutscenes, but it felt hurtful nonetheless. Mope, whinge.

I've heard from Jer that the gameplay is actually really great, but there's a lot of unforgivable decisions otherwise.

The gameplay was good *in general* but every time you started to build up any flow somethething would break it, a particularly bad offense was that it would periodically dump you into a first person view and force you to search for a single point of interest and you aren't allowed to move until you find it.
Also, part 1? That never bodes well, it's been so long since i played it, does the opening cutscene really last that long?

oh god, that voice acting was terrible! What made it worse was that it was a friggin' narration. Who put an audiobook in my terrible game? good work G* + P, you made it even more hilarious than it would have been without your comments.
